how to interpret the meaning of visual media. This first part of Module 2
aims to give you a quick learning on the different types as well as elements of
visual media. Knowing these preliminary lessons or topics is your first step to
successfully show understanding on interpreting the meaning of visual media.

Since this module will be talking about visual media, it is then important to
unlock the meaning of visual media.
Visual media (singular medium) are the things seen or heard from
television, movies, photography, painting, advertisement and so on.

To continue learning visual media, here is a lesson on their elements.
3. Colors have hue, brightness, and saturation as proper basic properties. It can
be used to represent feelings and mood.

4. Gaze is how one connects with look or eye contact. It is used to consider the
impact on the nature of the interaction between the subject and the viewer.
5. Framing is the way in which elements in a still or moving image are arranged
to create a specific interpretation of the whole. Strong framing creates a sense
of closure around elements.
6. Social Distance tells how close or far away is the subject from the viewer. It
is measured on a continuum from extremely close, to extremely remote.
