SAP GUI 7.30 Installation Guide

To install SAP GUI 7.30, run the SetupALL program and select all options, clicking next until installation is complete. This will create a SAPLOGON desktop icon. Then run RUNME.BAT in the Script_files folder to log on to the SAP system and check a successful installation. System parameters like the connection type, system ID, and message server can also be verified. Any installation errors will be logged in an *.xml file.

How to install SAP GUI 7.30?

1. Open GUI

2. Double click on “SetupALL” icon.


3. Click on “Next”.
4. Please select select all option above and click on next.
5. Click “Next”.
6. Click “Next”.
7. Click “Next”.
8. After Successful installation a SAPLOGON icon appears on desktop as shown in below fig .
9. Open the Script_files folder.

10. Select RUNME.BAT by double clicking on it


11. For windows XP machine check whether saplogon.ini file is copied to C:\Documents and
Settings\%usrx%\Application Data\SAP\Common. If not copy the saplogon.ini file manually
to C:\Documents and Settings\%usrx%\Application Data\SAP\Common folder specific to your
user ID.
How to check SAP ?
1. logon by double clicking on SAPLOGON icon

2. Below window opens


3. Select QAS-PUBLIC and click Log On
4. Below page will open

5. Installation is SUCCESSFUL.
How to check connection type and system parameters ?

1. logon by double clicking on SAPLOGON icon

Check whether the following are selected by default.

1. In the Connection Type “ Group/Server selection”

2. In the Description - PRD[PUBLIC]

3. In the System ID –“PRD”

4. Message server entry 10.196.216.4 will appear by default

5. In Group/Server – PUBLIC

6. Instance number- 03 or 04 will be highlighted by default


Note : - If SAP setup fails the following file gives you hint as to why it is failing.

Search for a file *.xml as detailed below.


%ProgramFiles%\SAP\SAPSetup\Errors\SAPSetupErrors_<DateTime>.xml
