Going Global
(From Hey Day To Clay Day)
Prophesy #2
TEXT: Daniel 2:41 – And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and
part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of
the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay
INTRODUCTION:
The world thinks its setting itself up for a HEY DAY when in reality it’s only going to be a
CLAY DAY.
A. Why should I preach messages on Prophecy? Why should we study
prophecy?
1. For the honour of Christ
In Revelation 19:10 a voice from heaven says, “…I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren
that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”
2. For Our Conduct
Romans 13:11 – And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now
is our salvation nearer than when we believed.
3. For Credibility
The Bible not only claims to be a revelation from the infinite Creator but it gives a very
detailed history concerning origins, to enable us to come to right conclusions. No other book
does this.
The Bible gives us an account of the origin of space, time, matter, earth, dry land, water,
plants, stars, sun, moon, sea creatures, flying creatures, land animals, humans, marriage, the
seven-day week, clothing, sin, death, languages, nations, and much more! We learn about the
Tower of Babel and the global Flood of Noah’s day. No evolutionist book covers all these
topics. No other book does this, not the Koran or any Hindu book. Only the Bible gives such
a detailed account of history. Only does the Bible speaks of future events with such clarity –
naming names, exact events and doing so with exact precision, hundreds, even thousands of
years in advance.
With the Bible we have a revelation from an all-powerful God – an all-knowing God who
gives us the history we need to know so we can interpret the evidence of the present
correctly.
1. For Comfort
Romans 15:4 – For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we
through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
B. For the past 60 years, human invention and achievement have fed the flames
of man’s ego.
Going Global (From Hey Day To Clay Day) – Prophecy #2 2
1. Man’s chest is sticking WAY OUT. After all man has gone to the moon, he has
invented the computer, the Internet, radio & television, and created the smart
phone.
2. For most of our young people and for many of you adults it would be hard for
you to imagine the changes they have seen in their lifetime? Even for us today –
we have seen great changes just in the past 5 years.
3. However, the greatest change OVERALL is a LESSENING of belief in the
PERSON, POWER and PURPOSE of God with all the while our societies are
experiencing an EXPLOSION in nihilism (i.e. the rejection of all religious and
moral principles, coupled in the belief that life is meaningless – probably one of
the reasons behind the rise in suicides) and more so an ESCALATION in human
EGO, SELF-ism, Narcissism … “lovers of their own selves” says the 2nd book of
Timothy (3:2).
4. All these are GROUND ZERO for the fulfillment of last day prophecy.
C. But nature abhors a vacuum.
In the place of our society’s BELIEF and TRUST in God … there is an ERUPTING rise in
DEADLY DOGMAS and the price is high that accompanies them.
Folks, the world is GOING GLOBAL. To understand this I ask you to consider:
1. Though there is a present resurgence of nationalism in the world, the over-all
picture of how the world is all ready operating or planning economic and foreign
policies on a global basis is blatant.
2. The picture of the power of globalism is realized with the forceful human
movement of immigrants across national boarders, the millions who have lost
jobs due to traditional industries moving to countries with cheaper labour, and
globalization has bought people from various countries physically together, and
this is perhaps the reason that diseases from one remote region is now
transported to almost every country in the world. An example of this is when the
first-known case of AIDS came up in America; only few would have traced its
origin to Sub-Saharan Africa. Globalization bought people from various
countries together, and this is perhaps the reason that a virus from a jungle was
transported to almost every country in the world. The list could go on.
3. Then there is also the prophetic picture of globalization from the Scriptures.
I. THE PORTRAIT OF GLOBALISM
D. What does this stuff really look like?
1. Please take a moment and think about this. If a king or ruler of a large nation
say some 2500-yrs. ago visited our world today, he would he not be shocked out
of his socks?
a. One thing that would surprise him would be the way the nations of the
world have become less and less NATIONAL and more and more GLOBAL
in nature.
Going Global (From Hey Day To Clay Day) – Prophecy #2 3
b. He would be shocked that some 240 countries have essentially given up their
national sovereignty and have begun to see themselves as part of a WORLD
COMMUNITY.
c. How different the world was 2500 years ago and before: in those days the
MIGHT of a nation was a direct reflection of their gods and their religion.
2. You recall when king Sennacherib of Assyria surrounded Jerusalem, it was clear
that he was seeking to overcome Israel’s God … he was crowing that his armies
were superior because his god was superior.
READ with me of his boasting to king Hezekiah in Isaiah 37:12-13:
Have the gods of the nations delivered them which my fathers have destroyed, as Gozan, and Haran,
and Rezeph, (Rez-F) and the children of Eden which were in Telassar? (Tell-us-r) 13] Where is the
king of Hamath, (Ham-eth) and the king of Arphad, (R-pad) and the king of the city of Sepharvaim,
(seph-ar-va-m) Hena, (Hen-ah) and Ivah?
What was he saying? “Hey Hezekiah – my god is bigger than your God.”
3. You recall that David became indignant at Goliath as he defied the very armies of
the living God. David testified in: 1 Samuel 17:36:
Thy servant slew both the lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them,
seeing he hath defied the armies of the living God.
David said to Goliath and all the Philistines, MY God IS BIGGER THAN YOUR God.
1 Samuel 17:46 – This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take
thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of
the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.
To lose a battle was an embarrassment for the Hebrews, because the Living God would then
be seen by the pagan nations to be weaker than their gods.
4. Joshua, after Israel’s defeat by the people of Ai, bemoaned to God in Joshua 7:9:
“For the Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the land shall hear of it, and shall environ us round, and
cut off our name from the earth: and what wilt thou do unto thy great name?”
a. HOWEVER, today, few nations care about their gods as they hand over their
sovereignty to be part of a GLOBAL COMMUNITY.
b. Moslem nations are probably the exception; their intent is to turn every
“pagan” (as they call us) on earth into a Muslim.
c. But most nations, perhaps unwittingly, are adopting a new religion that is
going global and the pastor will be the Antichrist.
5. Here is how Daniel describes the religion of the Antichrist in Daniel 11:37-39:
Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he
shall magnify himself above all. 38] But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces: and a god
whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and
pleasant things. 39] Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a strange god, whom he shall
Going Global (From Hey Day To Clay Day) – Prophecy #2 4
acknowledge and increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the
land for gain.
Consider the “strange god” of vs. 26. I have no Biblical insight, but let me just throw this out
as a suggestion. Could this “strange god” be commercial and religious Babylon? Could the
strange god of globalism – could it be the entire contraption be a one world religion and
government? Just some food for thought!
We’ve looked at the Portrait of Globalism, now …
II. THE POWER OF GLOBALISM
A. The Bible gives clear evidence that the world will go global – Dan. 2
1. From Daniel 2:31-45 reveals to the Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar the
interpretation of the great image he saw representing the four major powers of
the world.
2. Daniel describes the fourth political powerhouse in Daniel 2:41-45 << TURN
a. The legs of iron represented Rome, which conquered the Greeks in 63 B.C.
The feet of clay and iron represented the breakup of the Roman Empire,
when the territory Rome ruled divided into a mixture of strong and weak
nations.
b. The Roman Empire was not replaced by another worldly kingdom but will
be revived by the Anti-Christ, only to face complete and utter destruction.
3. The Word of God reveals to us that the world will not only go global but that the
result will be a concoction that will ultimately fall on its face.
a. It will be full of cracks. Even when the peoples of this globe find common
ground, it becomes a very brittle relationship.
b. The only true way to bond—is in CHRIST.
1 John 1:3 – “… truly our fellowship (or our participation, our benefaction, our partnership) is
with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
c. But just look at mortal man as he seeks to find common ground in all things
global. And watch him as he sets up his organizations and committees, so to
speak, to keep things moving.
He has the U.N.
He has NATO
He has the world bank
He has the IMF = International Monetary Fund
And on and on it goes. Men love committees and organizations to help
their world club hang together.
d. But Daniel said the entire structure would be brittle. With all man’s efforts to
the contrary—it will not be PROPHECY PROOF. It must and will collapse—
just as Scripture tells us.
Going Global (From Hey Day To Clay Day) – Prophecy #2 5
4. LOOK >> 2:44-45 – God’s Kingdom will never be destroyed.
a. If you are upset by threats of war and the prosperity of evil leaders,
remember that God, NOT world leaders, decides the outcome of history.
b. Under God’s protection, God’s Kingdom is indestructible. Those who trust in
God are members of his Kingdom and are also secure in Him.
We looked at The PORTRAIT of Globalism and the POWER of Globalism, now …
III. THE PROPHECY OF GLOBALISM
A. The Bible clearly does prophesy that globalism will take place in the last days.
1. This worldwide club will exclude the God of Inspiration, the God of Creation,
and the God of Israel.
2. Concerning this worldwide revolt of nations from God, LOOK at what He says
this about their future in Isaiah 34:1-2; 63
3. All of this holy indignation is spelled out in the book of the Revelation. We see in
Rev. 14:14-20 the harvesting of the earth’s rebellious lost—when you read this
book is causes one to tremble for what’s coming to this world.
B. One key player in the Bible and in this world that must always be reckoned
with is the nation of Israel. Numbers 23:8-9
1. Israel has not only been set apart by God from its inception, but Israel has been
set apart from the nations.
Israel before God is counted as ONE.
Israel before the GLOBE is counted as NONE.
2. The world thinks little of and for some, think of Israel not at all.
JUST look at a map drawn by the Palestinians and find the nation of Israel—it
isn’t shown on the map. They do not recognize Israel or its right to exist.
3. As the world tries to put its toes into the same shoes with iron and clay of the old
Roman Empire … one target of theirs is the nation of Israel.
4. Israel is marked for annihilation!
CONCLUSION:
Folks, these times in which we live look a lot like the days of Babel.
Genesis 11:4 – And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto
heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.
The tower of Babel was a great human achievement, a wonder of the world. But it was a
monument to the people themselves rather than to God.
We may build monuments to ourselves (expensive clothes, big house, fancy car, important
job) to call attention to our achievements. These may not be wrong in themselves, but when
we use them to give us identity and self-worth, they take God’s place in our lives. We are free
to develop in many areas, but we are foolish if we think the development of our
accomplishments have replaced God. Have you built “towers” in your life?
Going Global (From Hey Day To Clay Day) – Prophecy #2 6
Babel was a direct challenge to God and an organized effort of collective human
endeavour. It was man’s first attempt for a one-world system
As has been the case down through the ages—God was left out of the building of
Babel as He is in today’s politic. The essence of humanism is evident: going about to
accomplish a human plan—all the while ignoring God. In any event, God was not
then nor now ready to allow such an attempt at Babel to take place.
The goal of the Babelites was to globalize; one language, one religion one dominant
currency—their goal was to be a massive ONE.
Sadly, your own country is caught up in all this globalism. We are losing our
sovereignty, our borders, and our identity. We are becoming what we have never
been.
That fullness of time has not yet come folks. The ultimate one world government will
be when Jesus Christ returns and establishes His kingdom on this earth.
Here is what the National Intelligence Council (an American institution) has said in its report
dated Dec. 2012, Global Trends 2030: Alternative Worlds (https://publicintelligence.net/global-trends-2030/):
“The world of 2030 will be radically transformed from our world today. By 2030, no
country—whether the US, China, or any other large country—will be a hegemonic power.”
I.e. no country will be controlling, ruling or dominant in a political or social context in this
world.
In 10 to 20 years, if we are still here, Ireland like many other countries will be fundamentally
changed—unrecognizable to our founding fathers.
Invitation:
However, REJOICE! The Lord draweth nigh.
The Lord is going to take us out, take us up and take us in.
Are you ready if He should sound the trumpet call and whisk us away today?
