d, Sewage transfer pumps will be installed in the tank to transfer effluent for secondary
treatment.
‘3.b. Secondary Treatment
We propose:
a. FAB based aeration system
b. Two MS-FRP / MS Epoxy coated FAB Reactors will be installed on the existing septic
tank.
cc. Aeration will be done in these FAB reactors.
PACE Marketing, Indore Page 1 of 4MAHIMA PURESPUN, PITHAMPUR STP ~ 125 KLPD
d. To install twin lobe roots air blower with high air discharge capacity for proper aeration
in FAB reactors.
e. Existing aeration tank will be converted to secondary settling tank and shall have tube
dac media for fast settling tank.
f. Tube dac media will also be installed in the existing tank for fast settling and to
increase the surface area.
3.c. Tertiary Treatment
a. To provide multi-grade filter and activated carbon filter of higher capacity with more
filtration capacity
b. To provide micron filtration system
©. To provide electronic dosing system for chlorination
3.d. Pipes and fittings as per requirement.
3.e PLC based new control panel with partial automation
4, Treatment Scheme:
The Sewage Treatment Plant based on MBBR / FMR technology will be designed to
treat a sewage quantity of 125 cu.mt/day having characteristics as mentioned
above.
_ 4.2. Primary Treatment
Here the raw sewage effluent from different buildings will be collected in the equalization
‘sump (Stage — 2) after it is allowed to pass through the screen chamber (Stage — 1)
Screen chamber arrest the large sized floating particles / material through coarse bar
screen.
Homogenisation of effluent takes place in the equalization tank. From equalization tank,
effiuent will be pumped at a uniform rate to the subsequent treatment units. Arrangement
to re-circulate the sewage shall be provided on each of the transfer pumps such that the
quantity of flow entering the aeration tank will be about 8.5 cu.m./hr. It shall be fitted with
coarse diffusers and sewage transfer pumps,
3.b. Secondary Treatment
From equalization sump effluent will be pumped into the fluidized aerobic bio-reactor
(FAB) (Stage ~ 3) for aeration using nitrifying and denitrifying bacteria. Aeration tank shall
~ be fitted with tubular diffusers for supplying air (oxygen) to mix the content of aeration tank
PACE Marketing, Indore Page 2 of 4MAHIMA PURESPUN, PITHAMPUR STP ~ 125 KLPD
and to transfer atmospheric oxygen through lobe roots air blower and it will have
suspended PP media, The dissolved organic matter is subject to biological degradation by
bacterial action in presence of oxygen and nutrients. This will convert dissolved organic
matter into stable settable matter.
‘Special media having density lower than that of water will be added to increase the
surface area upto 400 sq. mt. /cu.mt. This will increase the contact period of air (hence
oxygen) and water.
The bacterial concentration (MLSS) of 3000 mg/l and dissolved oxygen of 2 mg/l will be
maintained in the Aeration Tank.
From here, effluent will be taken (by gravity) into the secondary settling tank (Stage ~
4). The biological sludge developed in aeration tank shall be settled in the secondary
settling tank. It shall be equipped with tube dac media. The sludge accumulating in the
sludge pit will be transferred to aeration tank by means of return sludge pumps
The excess sludge shall be dewatered by sludge drying beds (Stage - 5). The filtrate
collected from the under drainage shall be conveyed to the holding sump by gravity. The
dewatered sludge shall be used as a soil conditioner after vermin composting within the
premises
3.c. Tertiary Treatment
‘Supernatant from secondary settling tank will be taken into the filter feed pump sump
(Stage - 6) from where effluent will be pumped into the multi-grade filter (Stage ~ 7) and
activated carbon filter (Stage — 8) for tertiary treatment before it is used for plantation
andlor gardening purpose.
3.d. Arresting Particles of Micron Size
Before using the treated effluent for toilet flushing or water bodies, tertiary treated effluent
will be allowed to pass through the micron bag filtration system (Stage — 9).
(On line chlorine (hypochlorite / bleaching powder) dosing (Stage - 10) will be done to
ensure proper disinfection
4, Advantage of the proposed treatment scheme and technology
4.a. Advantage of Fluidized Diffused Aeration Over Conventional Aeration by Surface
Aerator
Fluidized Diffused Aeration is effective method for aeration by means of porous diffusers
installed at the bottom of the aeration tank. Thus in the aeration process, oxygen transfer
PACE Marketing, Indore Page 3 of 4IN, PITHAMPUR STP - 125 KLPD
takes place by molecular diffusion through the interface film between air and liquid and it
increases in proportion to the interface area, for a given air flow. As the number of
bubbles increases, surface area increases.
‘Suspended media having density lower than that of water increase the surface area upto
400 sq. mt./cu.mt. This will increase the contact period of air (hence oxygen) and water.
The dissolved organic matter is subject to biological degradation by bacterial action in
presence of oxygen and nutrients. This will convert dissolved organic matter into stable
‘settable matter.
The diffused aeration transfers more oxygen to the effluent than mechanical aeration that
results in more BOD removal per unit of energy. It gives uniform distribution of dissolved
oxygen all over the tank. The supply of air volumes can be adjusted according to
biological loads and flow.
Installation and maintenance of diffusers is very easy. Furthermore, the power requirement
is less,
4.b. Oreline chlorination using dosing pump ensures proper dosing (in terms of quantity)
of chlorine in the effluent.
4.c. Chlorination has been proposed after activated carbon filter to ensure long life for
activated carbon.
4.4. Use of air pump has been proposed for re-circulation of bio sludge from secondary
settling tank to the aeration tanks. This pump will be operated using proposed twin lobe
roots air blower for aeration. This reduces the power requirement by minimum 1.0 HP.
Further it has no costly parts.
4,. The proposed technology uses lesser power and requires little maintenance.
Operation and maintenance is easy.
4.f. PLC based control panel for auto and manual operation of pumps and blowers. PLC
will be programmed for auto startup and switching-off of pumps as per the level of effluent
in tanks. Auto switch over of pumps (raw effluent, filter feed, sludge feed or filter pressure
feed, chlorine dosing) and blowers between operational and standby will also take place.

Name of Work:
a. Waste Water Treatment Plant of 125 cu.mt./day capacity
MS FRP/ MS SILICON COATED UNITS:
~The various units shall be as under:
1. Fluidized Aerobic Bio Reactor:
The biological treatment of effluent shall be carried out using nitrifying and denitrtying
bacteria. It will have tubular diffusers to supply air (oxygen) for air sparging to mix the
content of aeration tank and to transfer atmospheric oxygen into the system. The
dissolved organic matter is subject to biological degradation by bacterial action in
presence of oxygen and nutrients. This will convert dissolved organic matter into stable
settable matter. Dosing of nutrients will be done here to maintain the growth of
microbes.
Special media having density lower than that of water will be added to increase the
Surface area upto 400 sq. mt, /cu.mt. This will increase the contact period of air (hence
oxygen) and water.
The bacterial concentration (MLSS) of 3000 mg/l and dissolved oxygen of 2 mg/l will be
