SECTION 6 HEALTH HAZARD DATA
Routes of Entry: Eyes: Primary Inhalation: Yes- propellant n/a – bulk product
Skin: Primary Ingestion: n/a
Effects of Exposure (acute and chronic):
Eye contact may cause irritation, tearing and redness.
Breathing vapors may cause anesthesia, headache, dizziness and upper respiratory irritation.
Skin contact may cause drying of skin and/or irritation.
Swallowing may cause irritation, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. Aspiration into the lungs may cause pneumonitis.
Carcinogenicity: NTP: No IARC: No
Signs and Symptoms of Exposure: Eyes: Irritation Inhalation: Light headiness Skin: Moderate irritation
Medical Conditions Generally Aggravated by Exposure: Skin contact may aggravate an existing dermatitis condition.
SECTION 7 PREVENTIVE MEASURES
Personal Protective Equipment: Gloves: Yes Respirator: See below Eye: Yes Other: No
For open systems where contact is likely, wear safety glasses with side shields, long sleeves, and chemical resistant gloves.
Where contact may occur, wear safety glasses with side shields.
Concentrations in air may that exceed the limits given in this Section and engineering, work practice or other means of exposure reduction
are not adequate should be avoided, NIOSH approved respirators may be necessary to prevent overexposure by inhalation.
Engineering Controls: The use of local exhaust ventilation is recommended to control vapors below TLV. Provide mechanical
ventilation of confined spaces or if vapors are a problem.
Work/Hygiene Practices: Wash before eating. DO NOT smoke.
Leak and Spill Procedure: With aerosol cans, spills of consequence are unlikely. Eliminate all open flames and sources of ignition in the
vicinity of spill or released vapor. Ventilate area. DO NOT allow vapors to build up. Absorb spills with absorbent material. (A fire or
vapor hazard may still exist as absorbent material will absorb only liquids, not vapors)
Waste Disposal: Place contaminated materials in disposable containers and dispose of where permitted under local. State and federal
regulations. Leaking spray cans should be placed in an open container until pressure has dissipated.
Storage and Handling: Store in a cool, well ventilated place away from open flame, heat, welding arc, and other sources of ignition. Do
not store above 49°C. Check with local fire department for storage requirements. DO NOT cut heat, drill or weld containers. Empty
product containers may contain product residue and vapors. Retained vapor is explosive. Dispose of empty cans properly. DO NOT
incinerate, crush, compact or burn.
SECTION 8 FIRST AID MEASURES
Eye Contact: Flush eyes with large amounts of water for at least 15 minutes. Obtain medical attention.
Skin Contact: Flush with large amounts of water; use soap if available. Remove and wash contaminated clothing, including shoes.
Inhalation: Immediately remove to fresh air. Administer artificial respiration if breathing is stopped. Call for prompt medical attention.
Ingestion: DO NOT induce vomiting. If vomiting, keep head below hips to prevent aspiration. Get prompt medical attention.
