ELECTRICAL SCHEMATICS SYMBOLS & NOTES GENERAL NOTES: 1 10. This type of schematic is called ladder wiring schematic. Circuits are generally read from top to bottom ‘and from left to right. That is, electricity flows from top to bottom. The Electrical Equipment st on Page 1 matches the, components shown on the original Maserati viring diogram Components are shown in the OFF position, os when the car is parked. Some circuits shown on different pages ore interconnected. For example, Fuse 7 supplies pover to Law Beom Heads (Poges ty #18) ‘and Windshield Wiper & Washer (Page 25). All Circuits receiving power from Fuse 7 are connected. Use wire colors only as a guide. Do not rely on ‘them when tracing circuits. | found several instonces of different colored wires spliced together in the wire homes. Colors shown are from Ghibli 115-652. This is an early car with toggle switches rather than rocker switches. A terminal block has two screws, electrically connected, to which two wires can be attached. This is considered « single wire terminal. Two point terminal blocks are common and provide for two circuits. ‘Al wires are medium diameter unless listed cs small (SM) oF large (Lc). This is an easy modification that provides high beam flashing, instead of low beam flashing. With the ignition OFF, all wires are de—energized and there will be no chance of causing a problem. 2. Locate the terminal blocks along the left side of the steering column. Identify the BLUE/WHITE ond BLUE/RED wires coming out of the steering column to the four joint. terminal block. Remove the two wires at the ferminal block and reverse them. 3. Identify the Orange (Cantelope) wire at the same terminal block and remove it. Tape the wire end and leave it loose. Motor parking switch is disconnected. Wipers running at fast speed. 12v from Green through manual switch then via Blue/Light-green to motor. Motor parking switch is disconnected. Wipers switched off but not yet parked. 12v from Green through motor parking switch, from motor to manual switch on Brown/Light-green, through manual switch (off) then to slow- speed winding of motor on Red/Light-green. When the wipers reach the park position the motor park switch changes over and connects a ground, via the Brown/Light- green, the manual switch (off), Red/Light-green to the slow- speed winding, effectively shorting it out and rapidly stopping any residual movement of the wipers.
