Task 2 - Activity 1
Task 2 - Activity 1
Purpose
● Deploy a Data Collection Tool on a customer provided dedicated virtual server for up to 30
days to gather asset and resource utilization data for the Customer’s desktop computing
environment.
● Interview and hold workshop with customer to review findings and gathered additional data
if needed and recommend next steps.
● Conduct a Customer Environment Review workshop to understand the customer’s data center
and desktop environment/plans
● Work with customer’s engineering team(s) to explain the desktop virtualization pilot
methodology
● Based on HUNE City best practices, create the Pilot Desktop Virtualization Design Document
Design recommendations, to include:

Partitioning
Run multiple operating systems on one physical machine.
Isolation
Provide fault and security isolation at the hardware level.
Encapsulation
Save the entire state of a virtual machine to files.
Move and copy virtual machines as easily as moving and copying files.

Individual project data
To Implement the desktop virtualisation solution for the optimal performance and for the
testing of different applications as virtualisation
Save the costs of the hardware and provide the facility of multiple platforms
across the same machine which can be very beneficial for implementation of
different applications along with their testing.
Executive Summary
Ensures that senior management is appropriately briefed on the pilot design and success, in
order to evaluate business benefits, technical requirements, and risks of a full (subsequent)
desktop virtualization production roll-out.
