I will introduce technology in my ELA classroom by encouraging students to use their laptops during silent reading fluency
exercises. This will mean that each student has his or her own private room to complete his or her reading. I hope IXL would be the
most helpful of the three technologies I have used. This website would be perfect for administrators to ask for it in their classrooms.
IXL offers instruction for all pupils from grades K-12 and learners with and without disabilities. IXL has all the pre requisites of Math,
Science, and Language Arts. Educators will be able to monitor students completing their assignments and see which learners are doing
the tasks and which learners are guessing through the "live" feature. Educators will also be able to propose IEP-based tasks. An IEP
instructor would have the option of going to IXL to gather data, when completing the IEP, to determine whether students are
advancing on their goals. Finally, as students complete their assignments faster than their classmates, they will be assigned to work on
IXL to eliminate distraction in the classroom.
