This project aims to manufacture roofing from plastic waste and sisal fiber. Plastic waste will be collected, ground into flakes, and melted. It will then be mixed with sand and chopped sisal fiber. This mixture will be molded into a roof shape using a press between wood and tin frames. The roofs will undergo testing for properties like water resistance, flexural strength, and UV resistance. This project aims to reduce plastic waste pollution while providing a lower cost roofing alternative made from recycled materials. Testing will analyze the product's properties and provide recommendations for further development.

Introduction
 A plastic material is any of a wide range of synthetic or semi synthetic organic solids
which are made by polymerizing molecules of monomer materials derived from coal,
petroleum or natural gas.
 Plastic product importation and production are high in the world. Ethiopia is also one of
the countries which import and use plastics.
 Plastic pollution occurs when enough plastic has gathered in an area that it affects the
natural environment and harms plants, animals, or humans.
 It can take hundreds or even thousands of years for plastic to break down, so the damage
to the environment is long-lasting.
Cont....
 plastic products are one of recent environmental concerns that require
indispensable solution.
 A great way to reduce plastic waste is recycling or reuse them in to
useful product.
 So we decide to manufacture roof by combining of plastic waste, sisal fiber
and sand.
Problem statement
 In our world specially in urban area plastic waste are dispose from
factories, industries, hotels and individual households are taking the
major share in polluting the environment, because of their huge quantity
and disposal problem as do not biodegrade for a very long time.
 Such conditions are mainly observe in cities developing countries due
to lack of plastic waste recycling.
 . The main goal of Waste recycling and reusing is decreasing
environmental pollution and making a profit. But in our country use
plastic for any purpose, after completing the specific task the plastic
material dispose to the environment.
 By The above problem we decide to make house roof by using plastic
waste with minimize cost.
 Because the benefit of this thesis is re-utilizing of Plastic Waste are
numerous, decrease in cost than the existing roof product and also
environmentally friendly compared to the other methods of waste
disposal.
General objectives Specific objectives
 To convert plastic waste in to
 Manufacturing of roof.
roof from plastic waste  To develop an experimental
setup for melt mold.
and sisal fiber  In order to use roof for
application of tin in industry,
home, hospital, school and other
project.
 To minimize environmental
pollution due to plastic
waste.
 To protect from sunlight, rain
and different hazard environment
with in minimum cost.
 This thesis work cover raw material collection for production
of roof from the plastic waste, sand and sisal fiber which used
for reinforcement using weight presser method.
 In this process, the raw materials will be characterize and
physic-mechanical properties (water replant test, flexural
strength test, tensile Strength, UV test and surface
morphology) of the final product.

Literature review
 In 1998, Athos Poldidor “METHOD OF MAKING COMPOSITE
TILES CONTAINING WASTE PLASTIC” The present invention
concerns a manufacturing process and a related product constituted of a
tile in plastic material. The process comprises the following operative
stages crushing a thermoplastic material of recovery.
 According to Athanas Konin ―use of plastic wastes binding material in the
manufacture of tiles: case of wastes with a basic of polypropylenE”
According to konin the plastic waste tiles have low porosity hence it makes
tiles impervious in opposition to micro-concrete tiles. The proportion of 40%
of plastic binder gives best result hence gauging is to be used.
 Yong Liu “MECHANICAL PERFORMANCE OF ROOF TILES MADE
TIRE POWDER AND WASTE PLASTICS‖ According to the principle that
the impact strength is the most important mechanical performance and the
modulus of elasticity and elongation at break are the secondly important; a
sample that contains equal rubber powder and plastic was taken as the best.
Methodology
 COLLECTION OF RAW MATERIAL
First the plastic waste would collect from home business and other
sites. The waste must be separate from metal, glass, and other
impurities. The sand would prepare in particle size and then the sisal
fiber would purchase from the market
 MANUFACTURING METHOD
The plastic waste ground up and shred in to flakes (small piece). Next
to This the material melt down then mix with sand and sisal fiber
which is in small piece after that we put the mix tar in to wood frame
which is attached to tin sheet and we put the presser in to it and wait
for some minute and finally we get a roof which is composite of
plastic waste, sand and sisal fiber.
 PERFORMANCE TEST
After the roof is produce the property of the product would be test like
water replant test, flexural strength test, tensile Strength, UV test and
surface morphology
