SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Always follow the safety instructions for your own safety and the safety of others.
1. Always handle your firearm as if it were loaded.
2. Never point your firearm at anything you do not intend to shoot.
3. Never take anyone’s word that the firearm is unloaded.
4. Always make sure that your firearm is unloaded and "broken" before laying it down, or
handing it to another person.
5. Always store your firearm unloaded, with its striking mechanism released.
6. Never abuse your firearm by using it for any purpose other than shooting.
7. Never leave a cocked and loaded firearm unattended.
8. Prior to loading the firearm, make sure that the barrel bores are clean and clear of
obstructions. Clean a dirtied firearm immediately so that it will always function
properly and safely.
9. Use only clean, original, high quality commercially manufactured ammunition, which is
appropriate to the caliber of your firearm.
10. Never drink alcohol or take drugs before or during shooting.
11. Always wear safety glasses and ear protectors during shooting whenever possible.
12. Always keep the safety on when the firearm is loaded, until you are ready to fire.
Keep the firearm pointed in a safe direction whilst disengaging the safety.
13. Always ensure that ejected cartridge cases can not cause injury either to yourself or
others during the ejection process.
14. Never squeeze the trigger, or put your finger in the trigger guard until you are aiming
at a target and ready to shoot.
15. Always be absolutely sure of your target, and the area behind it, before you squeeze
the trigger. Shot or bullets could travel through or past your target and up to several
hundred meters.
16. Never shoot at a hard surface such as rock, or a liquid surface such as water.
17. Never fire your firearm near an animal unless it is trained to accept the noise.
18. Never indulge in "horseplay" while holding your firearm.
19. Failure to fire: In case of failure to fire hold the firearm keeping it pointed towards the
target, or a safe open area and wait 30 seconds. If a hangfire (slow ignition) has
occurred, the cartridge will fire within 30 seconds. If the cartridge does not fire, eject
the cartridge and examine it. If the firing pin indent on the cartridge is light, or non-
existent, have the firearm examined by a competent gunsmith.

20. Always make sure your firearm is not loaded before cleaning, storing or travelling.
21. Always keep and store your firearm and ammunition in separate locked receptacles
out of the reach and sight of children and untrained people.
22. Never alter any parts of your over and under as the safety and proper functioning of
your firearm could be seriously compromised.
23. Always be aware that corrosion, use of damaged ammunition, dropping of the firearm
onto hard surfaces or other "coarse treatment" could cause damage that might not be
visible. If something like this happens have the firearm examined and tested by a
competent gunsmith.
DESCRIPTION AND TERMINOLOGY
The BRNO STOPPER O/U rifle is designed for hunting using cartridges of .458
Winchester Magnum cal. in compliance with CIP regulations.
This O/U rifle consists of the following main assemblies:
- Receiver
- Forend
- Barrel
Receiver
consists of the stock and receiver connected by a bolt. The breech, firing and trigger
mechanisms are installed in the receiver. The breech mechanism consists of barrel hinge
pins, top lever-operated upper and lower locking wedge, and when opened the lower locking
wedge is secured by the latch. In the closed position, the barrel is matched together with the
receiver to the front plate and side protrusions. The actual locking is provided by
engagement of both wedges. The firing and trigger mechanisms consist of cocking levers,
hammers, sears, and release notch. Hammers pivot on a pin. Cocking is actuated by the
barrel movement when breaking the firearm. The safety is located on the top rear portion of
the receiver, its function is manually operated, and its operation locks the trigger. The stock
is made also for the left hand configuration.
Forend
consists of the assembled barrel band and forend proper. The barrel band supports
the barrel pair and when breaking the firearm pushes the cocking levers of the firing
mechanism.

Barrel
the barrel pair is made of two self-supporting barrels screwed into sleeve. The barrels
are interconnected using adjustable spacers for facilitating proper regulation, The forend
hook is soldered to the lower barrel. The rear sight and front sight are located at the
individual bases.
The parts and components of this firearm’s barreled action are made of high-grade
construction steel and are heat-treated. The surface is protected by alkaline oxidation. The
gunstock and forend are made of walnut wood and stained. Gripping surfaces are provided
with checkerings.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Several Main Principles
- before you start shooting, you must clean the firearm's external surfaces followed
by barrels bores including both cartridge chambers and finally wiping all
surfaces dry
- use only good quality, not corroded cartridges
- do not use cartridges that have been dropped and are dirty unless properly
cleaned
- always wear suitable ear protectors and safety glasses when shooting
- do not fire an oiled firearm
Loading
Using your right hand thumb, push the top lever to the right away from you and by
pushing the barrels down with your left hand break the action of over and under rifle (Fig. 1).
When the firearm is being broken, the barrel band pushes the cocking levers and the
striking mechanism is cocked. The action must be home broken. When the action is broken,
the top lever is kept in the open position through the locking wedge latch. Shift the manual
safety to its "ON" (SAFE) position. Insert cartridges into the chambers of the corresponding
barrels and fully close the action. With this movement the catch releases the wedge, which
will then lock the barrels. The double-barreled rifle is fully locked if the top lever is
positioned perpendicularly against the barrels muzzles.

The Safety and its Operation
The manual safety mechanism is disengaged to its "Safety-Off" (FIRE) position by
shifting the safety catch forward (Fig. 2); an orange warning dot appears and after taking
aim, the gun is fired by pulling the trigger.
After first pulling of the trigger release it to let it return to its fully forward position so
that the releasing notch is shifted under the other sear. The single trigger mechanism
design is automatic. If you fire a cartridge in one barrel only, the other barrel can be locked
by shifting the manual safety rearward. Replace spent cartridges with new ones by opening
the action. The ejectors eject spent cartridges out of the chambers. In case the cartridge has
not been discharged the ejector only extracts such cartridge from the chamber. When you
have finished shooting, disassemble the firearm and clean it.
Sighting-in and Regulation
Both barrels of the O/U Brno Stopper rifle were at the manufacturing plant regulated at
a distance of 50 m in accordance with accompanying sighting-in target and listed type of
ammunition. Even after factory regulation, however, the accuracy of an O/U rifle can be
affected by the choice of new ammunition or by adding any weight such as a scope and
consequently could impair both barrels joint grouping. The barrel bundle design allows
regulation. The front sleeves serve for the grouping horizontal plane adjustment, middle
spline corrects the height (Fig. 3).
MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
O/U Rifle Disassembly
With the gun locked and unloaded push the forend latch out (Fig. 4) and at the same
time, push the forend slightly towards the barrel. Remove the forend from barrels (Fig. 5).
Hold the receiver in your right hand and the barrels in your left. Pressing the
top lever, unlock the breech mechanism. Rotate the barrels around the hinge pin. When you
have rotated them by about 45°, it is possible to l ift the barrels out of the hinge pin (Fig. 6)
free of the action.
O/U Rifle Assembly
Rotate the top lever to the open position until the locking wedge latch snaps in. If the
striking mechanism is released, the protruding firing pins are retracted. Place the barrels in
the receiver and slip them onto the hinge pin, rotating the the barrels upwards closes the
gun, and the catch releases the wedge, which will lock barrels (Fig. 7). It is not possible to
place the barrels in the receiver without the top lever arrested.
Fit the forend on the front receiver surface and pivot on the receiver guide surfaces,
push against the barrels (Fig. 8). A latch snaps down under the forend hooks. To check the
correct assembly, break the firearm and close it again.

Cleaning the Firearm
In principle, the barrel should be cleaned from the cartridge chamber towards the
muzzle, with a cleaning rod having a soft bore brush or patch using, cotton wool or soft
cotton textiles. Use only brand name cleaning and preservation agents intended for guns.
The bore and the chamber should be cleaned immediately after shooting.
Wipe the gun surfaces dry and rub in a thin layer of oil. Preserve the stock and the
forend with a special wood-protecting agent.
Timely and proper cleaning extends the service life of firearm. Keep the double-
barrelled rifle in a dry place in order to avoid alternating moisture condensation and thus
degradation of wooden and steel parts.
When your firearm has not been fired, check it at least once a month and retreat with
oil, etc.
If you do not use the double-barrelled rifle, release the striking mechanism using the
cartridges specially designed for this purpose.
It is recommended to grease the sliding surfaces of the ejectors and forend with the
gun grease. It is not recommended to clean the gun with metal brushes. For fouling and any
residues removal use only soft (wooden, plastic) tools.
It is recommended to have the gun checked and cleaned by a special workshop once a
year. The manufacturer is not responsible for guns repaired by the owners themselves.
Adherence to these principles and recommendations will ensure faultless functioning
of the gun.
WARRANTY CONDITIONS
The manufacturer guarantees proper functioning and preciseness of the gun for two
years from the date of purchase. This warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship.
This warranty is valid only for the first owner, who must show this Certificate stamped
and signed by the retailer who sold the firearm.
If all the warranty conditions have been met, transport of the firearm packed in its
original package is paid for by manufacturer.
This warranty does not cover defects and faults caused by unauthorized repairs or
modifications, negligence, or improper handling and inappropriate storage.
