Alsalam Alaikum
,Dear Students
The following document contains some instructions related to your midterm exam. The aim is to have
smooth experience and focus on the learning objectives. Please let me know if you have additional questions
and we will update the document version.
The platform (Teams) will be used for proctoring. You should log in about 10min before the exam to
make sure that the camera and the setup is approved. The camera should remain ON for the entire
period of the exam even if you are done. If you are using a portable/mobile device, it should be fully
charged.
The camera should be arranged to show your face (side view), the display (monitor) and your
working space. The camera placement should result in a picture like the one shown above.
The session will be recorded.
You are not allowed to chat or speak during the exam as this would interrupt others.
No questions related to the content of the exam. In case of emergency, you can communicate with
the instructor on private. Make sure you have his office phone number ready (in case he is going to
be in the office).
The exam will be performed through Backboard / Assessments test.
Note that exams based on short answers, in addition to the understanding, requires being accurate.
Please practice and identify common mistakes to avoid.
For logistic reasons, the exam will be divided into three parts. The duration of each parts and the
details will be provided just before the exam.
This is a closed book exam, no Internet search is allowed. You should not provide help or receive
help from anybody.
You can use your calculator and prepare a sheet with formula that you may need.
Whenever you are asked to input your answer, write the answer numerically with at least three
digits after the decimal e.g. 0.123. Do not use fractions like 1/8 instead use 0.125. Don’t put units,
Units are already given in the text of the question.
When typing the answer, make sure that you observe the requested unit or scaling factor, e.g some
questions might ask for the frequency in kHz or k rad/sec, VA or KVA etc…
