Heat Treatment Effects on Mild Steel

This document discusses the effect of heat treatment on the properties of mild steel. It presents research on the effects of annealing and normalizing through testing mild steel samples on a torsion testing machine. The results show that heat treating steel can change its properties like ductility, toughness, hardness, and tensile strength. Experimental studies were conducted on samples subjected to different heat treatments to analyze the mechanical properties and microstructure of the treated steel. The literature review discusses previous research on how heat treatment processes influence the properties of steels.
