Food for the Hungry (FH/U) is a Christian international relief and development organization currently operating programs in Asia,

Uganda since 1989, FH is operational in the Districts of Adjumani, Kitgum, Lamwo, Kole, Kween, Mbale, Namutumba and Amudat
implementing programs in four main sectors of Education; Food Security and Livelihoods; Health/Nutrition and Disaster Risk
Reduction; with the Head office located in Kampala. FH’s primary goal is to end all forms of poverty World-wide.

Job Summary:
The Finance Officer will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Field finance operations including preparing periodic
financial reports, reconcile accounting information, review major payments and invoices for consistence with organizational
procedures and established accounting formats and import all journal templates into the Sun System. He/she will handle monthly bank
reconciliations and transactions; and monitor transactions to ensure proper cash management for all the field offices in line with the
planned program activities in compliance with FH policy and Procedures. Additionally, this position directly and indirectly manages
the Cashier/Stores, Guards, Office Attendants at Cluster/Field level.
Produce monthly financial reports to Kampala office and donor reports according to donor requirements, ensuring accuracy
and compliance
Working as a liaison between the bank and the organization, collect monthly bank statements and prepare bank reconciliation
to reconcile with book and G/L accounts balances;
Prepare the project cash flow forecast with programs feedback and reconcile with the original budget before sending to
Kampala finance.
Ensure compliance with donor regulations, FH finance policies and local government rules and regulations;
Ensure the accuracy and correctness of all transactions against each grant; ensuring all expenditures are posted under the right
account codes
Ensure budget holders understand the requirements of grant and grant auditors’ requirements, have prepared all necessary
paperwork to the audit;
In coordination with Kampala finance, organize in house training and/or orientation session on finance to projects staff;
Administration
Candidate should have a bachelor’s degree/equivalent in Finance and accounting or related discipline from a recognized
university or institution.
Having completed ACCA/CPA level II is added advantage / pursuing professional qualifications
Minimum of 4 years extensive experience in financial management and co-ordination preferably within an international NGO
environment
Having an auditing background is an added advantage.
Job Summary:
The Social Behavior Change officer will lead the planning and roll out of community dialogues and FHU behavior change
modules, male engagement activities, and other related activities in the WFP Nutrition project in Palabek, Lamwo.
In close coordination with the Project Coordinator, IYCF Assistants and Community Nutrition Volunteers, identify and take
lead in the mobilization and sensitization of target communities for community dialogue and engagement activities in
sanitation and hygiene practises as well as IYCF materials.
Work collaboratively with other project team members to ensure necessary program planning, development, resource
availability and management activities function smoothly and efficiently.
Supervision of IYCF Assistants and Community Nutrition Volunteers to ensure completion of work plans and
troubleshooting of challenges.
Participate in the budget planning and ensure the compliance and the optimal appropriation of allocated program funds.
Liaise with other actors such as the District Health teams, Community development offices, CSO networks and community
structures for partnership and collaboration geared towards strengthening community level Behaviour Change
Communication to influence implementation as a means to achieve GHG BCC agenda.
Prepare and submit Weekly updates, monthly activity reports and quarterly reports in quality and timely manner with active
participation in monthly review meetings and trainings.
Ensure accurate data collection on community dialogue and male engagement activity outputs and act on data analysis to
ensure evidence-based changes are implemented.
In close collaboration with the Nutrition Coordinator, MEAL officer, conduct formative research and conduct outcome
monitoring on community dialogue and male engagement activities.
Contribute to documenting experiences, preparing reports, presentations, briefs and articles for publication/success stories
Build the capacity of IYCF Assistants, CNVs and ensure quality of the performance at community level
Job Summary:
Support the management of nutrition related health activities and cases through supporting patients, advising mothers on nutrition and
working with the Nutritionist to ensure improved awareness and proper management of malnutrition cases.
