There is a lot barrier in promoting our very own folk dances one of which is the
emergence of various modern dances and the influence of dances from different countries
(kpop, American pop). because of them we seem to have forgotten our own dances that we
should enrich and be proud of because it reflects the rich culture and tradition as Filipinos, it
introduces us Filipinos to all parts of the world It is important for us to continue practicing
this golden tradition and continue to be introduced and passed on to each generation so that it
does not vanish and be buried in oblivion. (“huwag nating hayaang tayo pang mga Pilipino
ang mismong magbabaon sa sarili nating identidad bilang Pilipino”)
