You’ll want to make a bunch of these cute little tako, or octopus.

With a cute
chubby head and curly tentacles, it’s too hard to resist! You can create this little
creature all in one piece.

MATERIALS ABBREVIATIONS
Worsted weight yarn sc: single crochet
3.5 mm hook (US E hook) dc: double crochet
10 m black safety eyes st: stitch
Polyfill stuffing sl st: slip stitch
Yarn needle inc: increase (2sc in one stitch)
Scissors dec: decrease (single crochet 2sts
Stitch marker together)
ch: chain
*PATTERN NOTES*
• You will be crocheting in continuous rounds.
• The finished product will be roughly 2 ½ inches/6.35 cm tall.
• You can use any worsted yarn of your choice. I used YYC Knits 100% Superwash Merino
wool in the base of “Riley Park” from www.yycknits.com.

HEAD
R1: 8 sc in magic ring. (8)
R2: (sc1, inc) repeat 3 times (12)
R3: (sc1, inc) repeat 6 times (18)
R4: (sc2, inc) repeat 6 times (24)
R5: (sc3, inc) repeat 6 times (30)
R6: (sc4, inc) repeat 6 times (36)
R7: (sc5, inc) repeat 6 times (42)
R8 – R13: Repeat R7
R14: (sc5, dec) repeat 6 times (36)
R15: (sc4, dec) repeat 6 times (30)
R16: (sc3, dec) repeat 6 times (24)
R17: (sc2, dec) repeat 6 times (18)
Attach eyes between R12 and R13, about 7sts apart. Begin to stuff firmly.
R18: (sc1, dec) repeat 6 times (12)
Add more stuffing to make it nice and firm, be careful to not overstuff.
R19: (sc1, dec) repeat 3 times (8)

Do not fasten off. The yarn will be continued to be used to make the tentacles.

TENTACLES
*Sl st in next st, ch 21. In ch second from the hook, make a dc. Dc across.* There will be a total
of 20 dc across. Repeat ** 7 times to make a total of eight tentacles.

Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.


To close the hole, weave the yarn through the last st of each tentacle then pull. Weave in and
hide the tail end in the body.
Use blush, chalk pastel, fabric paint, or felt pieces to make little rosy cheeks.
