1 Unsatisfactory= does not fulfill performance expectations
2 Below Expectations= partly fulfills performance expectations
3 Satisfactory= completely fulfills performance expectations
4 Exceeds Expectations= frequently exceeds performance expectations
5 Outstanding= constantly exceeds performance expectations

5. Outstanding ("5")
The intern consistently exceeds performance expectations in the achievement of the objectives for
the evaluation cycle.
In order to rate the performance as Oustanding ("5") it is important to note that this rating is to be
used only in very exceptional cases and should be given very selectively, to only the highest
performers, the Staff Member must demonstrate:
4. Superior ("4")
The intern frequently exceeds performance expectations in the achievement of the objectives for the
evaluation cycle.
The ratings of superior("4") should be applied in all those cases when the Direct Supervisor feels that
neither of the "cornerstone" ratings, "3" or "5", adequately reflects/describes the Staff Member’s
performance.
Superior rating ("4") should be assigned in all those cases where performance in some waysor aspects
exceeds the expectations associated with the rating of Satisfactory ("3"), but does not fully meet the
criteria to be rated as Outstanding ("5").
3. Satisfactory ("3")
The intern fully meets performance expectations in the achievement of the objectives for the
evaluation cycle.
This is the rating that is to be given to all those Staff Members who:
5. Fully and satisfactorily perform his/her duties
6. Complete assignments within the timeframes,
7. Consistently deliver a good quality product, and do his/her job well.
8. Intern meets timeliness requirements or delivers quality and quantity of work
9. Makes sufficient or significant contributions
The ratings "Somewhat Below Expectations ("2") should be applied in all those cases when the
supervisor feels that neither of the "cornerstone" ratings, "1" or "3" adequately reflects/describes
the Staff Member's performance.
1. Unsatisfactory ("1")
The intern does not meet performance expectations in the achievement of the objectives for the
evaluation cycle;
