● The different methods that are use when teaching in the classroom.
● New games and activities that can help with learning.
● Having experience when it comes to interacting with the students.
2. List at least 3 things you are hoping to learn during Teaching Practicum 1.
● Learn how work with the different students and their behaviors.
● Learn how to teach in an effective and fun way.
● How to be a confident teacher and fair.
3. List at least three things about Teaching Practicum 1 that make you feel anxious.
● I am anxious to learn how interact with the students.
● I am anxious to master a lesson plan.
● I am anxious to use the different teaching methods to carry out my lesson.

From, I’ve known myself, I am someone who likes to learn new things and new information,
especially when it comes to teaching. So, in this practicum class I would love to learn the different
methods that I could go about when it comes to teaching. Throughout my years at school, I have
encountered teachers that know their content when it comes to teaching but their energy is not there
so students tend to lose their focus. I would love to know the different methods of teaching whereby my
lessons can be taught in a fun and engaging way that my students will want to learn. Once I understand
and know how to use the different methods as a future teacher, I will be able to reach my goal for my
class as a teacher.

Along with wanting to know the different methods of teaching there is also wanting to know
how to deal with students and their different behaviors. This is because when teaching at a public school
I will be teaching students from all over Belize. This is a bit scary for me because I know that some of
those students will come from trouble homes. So, what I would hope to learn is how I can teach them
and make them feel safe and that I am always there for them when they need me. By doing this I would
also need to know how to not become so friendly with my students and when to cross the line between
being a teacher and somewhat a friend to my students.
Once I have mastered how to work with students and their different behavioral concerns. It just
makes me become more anxious to interact with the students and learn from them, as well as having
them learn from me. I want to be a teacher that is going to have understanding as well as compassion
towards my students. However this starts from knowing my students and interacting with them as a
group and one on one.
