CASE STORY TITLE: A Better Alternative for the Youth of Barangay Maligalig

Conflict Identification

The residents of Barangay Maligalig observed that there are youths who are doing inappropriate
activities in their barangay specifically in their market. The youth does inappropriate activities
such as using solvents and rugby (addiction), drugs, riots and so, these bad habits are very bad
not only for their health and future but also for the safety of the community. Worst is not only
they do bad habits but they also encourage other youth in the community to join their group and
if the youth or kid did not entertain their invitation it is most likely they will get brutal to the
person, thus become alarming to parents and schools in the community since they are worried
for their students and children about this matter.

Reflection

Upon reading this case, I have realized that youth have a very short attention span thus we have
to offer series of short programs and activities as well so that we could prevent them from
gaining or develop bad habits that will affect not only their future but as well as our future. Our
future as well is affected because the future generations are the candidate of officers,
influencers, teachers, medical workers and so, in short, they would be the one who will
compromise the world in the future. If we want to have a better future for our sons, daughters,
grandsons and granddaughters, we should teach the current generation to be a better version of
not only themselves but also a better version of us.
