STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

I am Ekaraj Banjara, a Nepali student. I would like to present my statement of purpose

applying Australian student visa for studying bachelor degree in Bachelor of Business
(Accounting) at Ozford Institute of Higher Education. The data that I have presented here
are based on my research from people, website, teachers and seniors.
Academic Background
I am Ekaraj Banjara so of Mr. Gopi prasad banjara and Mrs. Balkumari Dhakal Banjara. We
are the permanent resident of Bhimsen Thapa rural municipality ward no. 03, Gorkha. In
order to pursue good and quality education me and my family shifted from Gorkha to
Kathmandu.
I have completed my schooling from Nava Suntakhan Academy at Suntakhan, Kathmandu. I
passed my school leaving certificate examination from Nava Suntakhan Academy securing A
grade of 3.60 GPA. During my schooldays I have developed many qualities on myself such as
leadership, social activities and many other sports. I have been very active member during
my school age as I have participated in extra activities such as debate competition, sports
like (cricket, football, volleyball) tournament. I was also the active member of scout in my
schooldays. Since grade 8, I started reading office management and accountancy as
optional subject and developed my interest in accounting. following my passion in
accounting I joined times higher secondary school, a popular management college in
Kathmandu in year 2016A.D. under management stream. I accomplished my high school in
2018A.D. securing 3.31 CGPA under National examination board of Nepal(NEB).
English Background
After the completion of my high school, I made up my mind for pursuing my further
education abroad. As English Language test is compulsory for students from Non- English
speaking nation, I began my preparation for IELTS examination and I was able to secure an
overall band score of 6.5. The score meets up the requirement of Australian Education
System so I am assured that I will be able to cope up easily with the people there. After
finishing IELTS exam I did 3-months unpaid internship to continue my passion and to
improve my accounting knowledge and skills. I have done internship in accounts and finance
department. I got opportunity to learn about processing and recording transactions,
preparing reports and budgets, fielding communications with clients and vendors, fact
checking. This work is directly related with my further study at Australia.

Personal Background
Furthermore, my introduction will be inadequate if I don’t introduce about my family. We
are four members in our family, me, younger brother, father and mother. My father is a
land lease and house rent owner while my mother is marketing manager at Parijat Saving
and Credit Cooperative Limited. They have supported me in each and every step of my life
without their support the plan to study abroad would not have been possible. And my
younger brother is currently studying here in Nepal.
Why not in Nepal?
Selecting a favorable destination for further study is very challenging task as our one
decision can make or ruin our entire life. After completing my high school, I started my
research on educational system of my country as reading in my own country was my first
focus. I looked up for renowned universities in my home country such as

Kathmandu University
http://www.kusom.edu.np/index1.php?
option=Xgc4cACnML2T1_DC21jA58Ttm2KiX8IXemmj5VvU8ug&id=W5Gmi0DUP0yrCGXvhIykpDWr__
m933lMi8ur1f9byCU

Tribhuwan University
http://tribhuvan-university.edu.np/faculties/faculty-of-management

Purbanchal University
http://purbuniv.edu.np/Program/?Id=2

Pokhara University
https://pu.edu.np/programlevel/ms-master/

I was quite disappointed to know that even the top universities of Nepal like Kathmandu
University (K.U) and Tribhuwan University (T.U) are placed in no. 3665 and 4,045 in world
ranking. (Source: https://www.timeshighereducation.com/world-university-rankings/tribhuvan-
university). I realized that the problems in educational system are multidimensional and are
prevailing since a long time. Firstly, I got to know that the courses being offered by the
colleges are limited and the content are lengthy yet pragmatic. Nepal’s education system is
not so innovative and it has not embraced change since a long time. The learning methods
are all theory based only, there is no practical learning involved. Students do not get the
chance to use the theories that they have studied practically; consequently, they end up
cramming and do not graduate with any soft skills or hands on experiences. My country has
also not adapted to a technology based approach in classroom, laboratories and libraries.
This backwards approach prevents student from being able to explore freely and gain
broader knowledge. The facilities and services which are required for the student’s overall
development is not provided by any institution in my country.

I got to know that a lot of students pursuing higher education in Nepal are not quite
satisfied with the activities of teachers. Teachers are less motivated to do certain research
work and absenteeism in teachers is common. Most teachers are not competent, and they
feel it difficult to indulge in research work due to lack of knowledge about research
methodologies. Also, Universities in my home country have very limited seats, which makes
it very competitive and difficult to enroll there. Only students pursuing medical science, IT,
Engineering, paramedical etc are considered and looked at, while students like me who have
a passion in accountancy feel neglected and demotivated. Nepal’s education sector has
been commercialized and every year several new colleges are established but they never
hire experienced teachers nor supply students with enough practical materials.

If I am asked to describe the educational system of Nepal, I would say students of 21 st

century is taught by adults of 20th century using the curriculum and techniques of the 19 th
century. I want to gain sophisticated knowledge but this seems impossible if I choose to
study in my home country, therefore I decided to pursue my higher education abroad.

Why not other countries?

Choosing the best destination for abroad study created several options which could lead
towards confusion. I could not afford to make a wrong choice so I did adequate research on
popular study destinations that included countries like USA, UK, Canada, Germany, France,
Korea, Japan, Finland etc.

Talking about USA there is lack of streamlined courses which results differences in education
standards. The entry requirement of USA is really tough as you need to sit entry exams such
as SAT, TOEFL and GMAT. Sitting these exams would take too much of my time and
recourses I wish to continue my education where entry exams are not applicable.
Moreover, Cases of mass attacks and gun shooting are recorded almost every day causing
USA insecure place for students. In addition, the visa decision of USA is quite unpredictable.
The students having good grades and strong financial support were rejected while
candidates with poor grades got the visa. As my priority is my education I am focusing on
good grades, I don’t want to risk my future so I removed USA from my list. I have researched
universities like Idaho State University ( https://isu.edu/), The University of Chicago
(https://www.uchicago.edu/), Johns Hopkins University (https://www.jhu.edu/) and Northwestern
University (https://www.northwestern.edu/).

As for the UK, it is undoubtedly one of the most favored study destination and the syllabus
can be completed in less time than other countries. However there are down sides to this
such as, having less time to learn and complete assignments and not having enough time for
teachers to go deeper in facts. The degree might be achieved in comparatively less time but
it creates a lot of burden for students. Also, we all are well aware about the fluctuating
immigration rule of UK which forced a lot of international students to leave UK in past prior
the completion of their enrolled course. Many also complain that the weather is dreary in
UK. I believe that it would be very difficult for Nepalese student such as myself to adapt to
the cold environment. As well as this, the living cost and tuition fees in the UK are very
expensive, therefore I dropped the idea of studying there. I have researched some
universities in UK namely London School of Business & Finance ( https://www.lsbf.org.uk/) with
tuition fee of £11,850.00, London Metropolitan University ( https://www.londonmet.ac.uk/)
with tuition fee of £10,250.00 and Craven College (http://www.craven-college.ac.uk/) which has
tuition fees of £11,150.00. The tuition fees in the education institution of UK is higher compared to
Australian education providers.

Canadian universities are known for their higher acceptance rates and notoriously low
graduation rates. For Example, University of Winnipeg is lowest among 4-year Universities in
the country with only 44.2% graduation rate. This means more than 1 in 2 first year students
in Winnipeg will not receive their undergraduate degree within 7 years. Also, Canada is a
very cold country and experience longer winter. The temperature falls down to -30 degrees.
Being a native to moderate climatic zone I am sure to face adaptation problems in Canada
so I terminated the idea of studying in this country too.

In the countries like Germany, France, Finland, Japan, Korea etc. I found the issue of
Language. They are non- English speaking nation and give preference to their own language.
I will have to learn their native language before applying visa which seems more time
consuming and useless before getting visa. I don’t think language class of around 6 months
can provide me proper knowledge about the language to communicate with local people so
I dropped the idea of studying in either of above mentioned country.

After a long journey for searching favorable abroad destination for my study, I finally came
to the conclusion that Australia will be the best country for my study. In fact, Australia is
reputed because of its quality education that is why I decided to gain an international
degree with the quality education provided by the Australian government.

Why Australia?

Before going to the conclusion on studying on Australia, I took reference of internet and
websites. I gathered the relevant information on studying in Australia then only I take
decision on studying in Australia.

The major website that I have surfed are:

Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS):

http://cricos.education.gov.au/Institution/InstitutionSearch.aspx?StateId=VIC

Tuition Protection Service (TPS)

https://tps.gov.au/Home/NotLoggedIn

ESOS (Education Services for Overseas Students) Act

https://internationaleducation.gov.au/regulatory-information/pages/regulatoryinformation.aspx

After completing my research on different countries, and with reference to above web links,
I found Australia as an appropriate country for me because it is the one and only country
which meets all the drawbacks of the countries like: UK, USA, Canada, Germany etc.
Australia is known as land of diversity in terms of cultures, language, dialects of migrated
people coming from every nook and corner of the world. So it provides me the
opportunities to gain and practice diverse knowledge of Australian societies, a composite of
diverse people from the world. More than 1200 institutions operate throughout the country
offering around 22,000 varieties of courses which enables students to choose their desired
subject. Australia has numerous top notch universities and colleges which are continuously
ranked among top 100 in the world. Australian universities offer a practical basis and
teaching methods such as, seminars, presentations, regular assignments and examinations,
field work and research based on field surveys and data collections. On top of this Australian
Universities and Institutions offer a globally recognized degree, this level of degree is not
achievable in Nepal.

There is an educational act known as ESOS (Education Service for Overseas Students) Act,
which protects international students financially and socially. Also, there is the provision of
TPS (Tuition fees protection) Act which gives more sense of security to international student
than of other countries. It means that if the education provider fails to provide the desired
education the student will get the refund of the fees by the Australian government which
they have paid for their education. The fee of the universities and colleges in Australia is
comparatively affordable. There is also the provision of providing scholarship to the
students if they are highly qualified. Besides this, there is a provision for health cover called
as OSHC (Overseas Students Health Cover). This is an insurance policy that covers all the
medical emergencies of a student during their stay in Australia.

Education institutions can only enroll and deliver education services to students in Australia
on a student visa if they are registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and
Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS). Registered providers must have met, and continue
to meet, the requirements of the Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000 (ESOS
Act) and National Code of Practice for Providers of Education and Training to Overseas
Students 2007 (National Code). Any provider intending to offer education or training
services to students must apply for registration to the ESOS agency for their education
sector. ESOS agencies are responsible for making decisions on a provider’s registration and
monitoring a provider’s compliance with the ESOS framework. Thus, choosing CRICOS
registered institutions protect international students like me while studying in Australia.

Lastly I find the PSW (Post Study Work Permit) scheme quite fascinating. None other country
in the world allows international students to work in their related field after completion of
their enrolled course. But Australian Government allows which makes students more
capable in their chosen field so that they can perform well after returning back to their
country. Australia is not only the best place for studying but also marvelous place for living.
Climatic condition of Australia is similar to my country which will keep me away from home
sickness. The living cost is also affordable with quality lifestyle and education. Thus, by
studying in Australia I can grab all the possible opportunities and also know about different
use of technologies and be a highly qualified person.

WHY NOT OTHER EDUCATION PROVIDERS?

Before selecting Ozford Institute of Higher Education for my further study, I have done
plenty of research on different education providers of Australia and compared them on the
basis of location, fee structure and intakes. For knowing about different education providers
I did a lot of surfing in internet and visited many education consultancies. The name of the
different education providers which I compared with Ozford Institute of Higher Education,
Stott’s College, Melbourne Institute of Technology, Mint International College, Charles Sturt
University, Flinders University, Kent Institute etc.

Stott’s College is located at 168 Exhibition Street, Melbourne, Victoria 3000, Australia and
providing the similar course as Ozford; Bachelor of Business. Stotts offers exactly the same
course Bachelor of Business (Accounting) https://www.stotts.edu.au/courses/higher-
education/bachelor-of-business-accounting/. My keen interest is to specialize in accounting. I
have interest in subjects like Management Accounting and Accounting Principles. Form the
website of this college I am not able to find the specialization units and elective units that
the college is offering. Moreover, the internship facility is available in Ozford Institute of
Higher Education but I am not able to find the internship in elective at Stott’s College.

Melbourne Institute of Technology (MIT),

http://www.mit.edu.au/study-with-us/programs/bachelor-business/accounting

which is located at 288 La Trobe Street, Melbourne, VIC 3000, Australia is providing the
course of Bachelors in Business major in Accounting.

By surfing the above website of MIT I came to know that fee is less AUD$17,000 per year for
this course than Ozford fee is AUD$18,000.

It appears that there core units include, Public accounting, Management Consulting,
Taxation, Business Administration and Financial Account, but they fail to include any
marketing units, which are offered at Ozford. To boost my career in accounting, I need to
boost the management skill. Marketing plays vital role in management. Thus, not having
marketing units in MIT I decided not to choose this institution.

Kent Institute is located at Level 10, 350 Queen Street; Melbourne VIC 3000, Australia and is
providing the Bachelor of Accounting. https://kent.edu.au/kent3/course-bachelor-of-accounting/

I have gone through the website and gain knowledge regarding this college. The college is
providing 3 years of bachelor degree at very nominal cost of AUD 15,200.00 per annum.
Their core units are, Business Accounting, Business Communication, Business Economics,
Business Law, Business Strategy, Management Principles, Marketing Principles, Organization
Behavior and Quantitative Methods. The intake for this college to international students is
November 2019 and Ozford Institute of Higher Education is in September. Two months of
time is not that big, but I looked the course structure of both the college where I found
some difference in elective section. Ozford is providing internship facility to their students
where Kent institute didn’t provide any internship facility. Learning activities under the
Internship unit is designed in such way that require students to integrate and appropriately
apply previous knowledge and training to make and justify decisions in a work-based
environment. As Kent does not offer me this I do not wish to study there.

WHY OZFORD INSTITUTE OF HIGHER EDUCATION (OIHE)?

Ozford also provides full support to its students and helps them become career ready
through the following:

Student support, life skills

As an international student and moving to very unique place, I might require huge support.
After continuous communication with college admission manager, Ms Susan Inserra I am
able and confident that Ozford Institute of Higher Education provide me lots of support that
I might face during my initial stage. According to her, they have a department for Student
Support and Administration there at Ozford which will work for the welfare and difficulties
of the students. I also watched her interview on Kantipur TV when she was interviewed by
with Sunil Acharya in April 2019. I learnt that Ozford gives international students especially
students from Nepal, welfare, emotional support and life skill strategies via special
afternoon workshops.

Job Ready workshops

Beside the personal support, they are also focusing on the professional support to students.
From the website of the college (https://www.ozford.edu.au/why-ozford/) I came to know that,
they have developed their own job-ready program and they assist all the students
personally to secure job placements. Also the teaching learning practice of the institution
prepares me to enter in workforce with excellence in education.

Internship units:

Ozford’s jobs and careers program is an integral part of my education and training, providing
me with real work skills and experiences. Institution will arrange internships, short-term
work experience or special unpaid industry assignments as they arise. Student of accounting
like me with the right attitude and excellent work ethics may be offered ongoing work. One
of the most important internship benefits is that college graduates who already have some
work experience in the form of an internship stand out to potential employers. Internship
experience make me more marketable when I return home, as I usually require less training
and can handle more responsibilities when I join any work place officially. For this,
internship unit make up two elective units of the course. I will work for an Australian
employer for 140 hours in the second year of my course. I do not need to pay for this, it is
part of my tuition fee. This experience will increase my industry contacts and convert my
academic knowledge into industry skills. The Internship unit at Ozford will improve my
communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills through a combination of academic
work and work-based activities. The unit will require me to negotiate, plan, collect
information, analyze, synthesize and apply discipline-based knowledge to required activities.
These skills ultimately helps me to apply in my home country after I return back.

Ozfolio:
Ozford Institute of Higher Education (OIHE) provides me all types of skills and knowledge
which will be beneficial for me while I started my professional career. After completion of
my undergraduate from OIHE, I will be able to analyze the accounting problems, analyze it
critically and apply my own judgement to solve those problems. Once I have learnt these
skills Ozford will help me display visually well them through my own portfolio. An Ozfolio
will highlight my accomplishments, identify my strong skills, and present my qualifications in
a logical sequence to any future employers. This facility is in not available in my country or
offered by any other Institute in Melbourne.

Ozford facilitates its students by managing small classes for studying, where an individual
can get the full attention of the lecturer. A low student to teacher ratio helps the students
easily interact with their teachers about any doubts regarding the lecture and provides one-
on-one assistance with English language development. Another reason why I wish to study
at Ozford is because the academic staffs are PHD qualified and chosen on the basis of their
outstanding teaching performance and leadership. Ozford also have well-appointed
classrooms and a fully equipped library with plenty of learning resources and great
databases, all of which will help me during my studies. Lastly, the fee structure of OIHE is
comparatively affordable compared to other universities which I have compared (AUD
18,000$).

All of these facilities Ozford have to offer are not available in Kent or MIT or Stott’s. The
bachelor course is basically the same in providing the core units offered but the extra
services Ozford offers are far and beyond what Kent and MIT and Stott’s can offer me.

WHY BACHELOR OF BUSINESS (ACCOUNTING)?

I have chosen the course Bachelor of Business (Accounting). I have visited the website of this
institution https://www.ozford.edu.au/higher-education/bachelor-of-business-accounting/ to
gather the information about accounting course.

This course will help me to prepare for a career in a variety of accounting and finance
related positions in accounting practices large and small – from SMEs and large corporations
to financial institutions and government agencies. The course is of 3 years’ duration with the
tuition fees of AUD 18,000.00 per annum. I have to complete 8 core units to complete my
bachelor degree. The core units of this course are:

The institution is offering 10 specialization units. Those specialization units are:

 Accounting Information Systems

 Accounting Principles

The Bachelor of Business (Accounting) course is accredited with CPA Australiaand CA

Australia & New Zealand (https://www.ozford.edu.au/higher-education/bachelor-of-business-
accounting/). Accounting is the measurement, processing, and communication of financial
information about economic entities such as business and corporations. My passion in
accounting developed since young age and during my high school I realized that Accounting
is the interesting and diverse degree one can earn. Through studying Bachelor of Business
(Accounting) I will understand how to perform complex functions of commercial sectors and
how to handle the cash flow. This course will develop my knowledge for calculating the
annual gross margin or determine the cost per unit of production. The core units of all the
college are almost same.

The elective units in accounting specialization that has interest on me are:

Management Accounting

In management accounting, I will learn about process of preparing management reports and
accounts that provide accurate and timely financial and statistical information required to
make day to day and short term decisions. From this unit, I can have better understanding
of the functioning of account provisions which shows the amount of available cash, sales
revenue, status of account payable and receivables, debt outstanding, inventory and raw
materials.

Accounting Principles

Accounting starts with its principles. These are the guidelines and rules that companies must
follow when reporting financial data. So it seems to be the basic thing but with the
knowledge of accounting principles I will not be able to explain accounting transactions and
treatment.

The skills and knowledge I will develop will make my career path easier enabling me to
tackle all the obstacles arising in my work place. Along with the technical skills, I will also
develop soft skills that can be easily transferred into the workforce. Many employers look
for skills such as time management, scheduling and planning for essentially every career.
Good accountants must be able to communicate complex financial data and business
projections clearly and concisely. It is one of the versatile degrees available and will help me
to achieve my goals. Nepal being a developing country is slowly commercializing. Several
new commercial and developments banks are being established and the prevailing ones are
expanding their branches which have increased the employment chances for the students of
management sector. The course will provide me deep knowledge about auditing, financial
and management accounting, tax, business law, economics and finance, statistics etc. I am
confident that this specific degree will provide me enough skills and innovative ideas to be a
top touch banker of my home country.

Value of my proposed course

A bachelor degree of Business (Accounting) from globally recognized college of Australia

rather than college of Nepal will help me to get many job opportunities in the field of
management, accounting and government. After completion of this course I can compete in
various levels of government job offered by Nepal government. Usually the jobs are offered
once or sometimes twice in a year in the post of Kharidar, Section officer, Officer in my own
country Nepal. http://www.educatenepal.com/notice_announcements/vacancy/list-of-
government-jobs-in-nepal

The field of Management Accounting, often referred to as Managerial Accounting or

Corporate Accounting, includes the financial and accounting tasks required to operate a
business. Managerial accountants work within companies and organizations to direct
internal financial processes; monitor costs, sales, spending and budgets; conduct audits;
identify past trends and predict future needs; and assist company leaders with financial
decisions. Thus, after completion of my degree I might get offered from corporate business
house like Chaudhary Group, Kedia Business Group, Laxmi Group here in Nepal.

Skills I will acquire from studying course at Ozford

After completion of this course, Bachelor of Business (Accounting) I will be prepare for wide
range of accounting related position. Accountants are an integral part of private, public and
nonprofit organizations. Some of the jobs that are directly related to accounting and finance
degree are: Accounting Technician, Forensic Accountant, Investment banker, Stock broker,
Tax Advisor, Budget Analyst, Capital accounting and many more. I can make my career in
any of the field mentioned above. Moreover, I will have following skills after completion of
this course:

 Accountancy and finance degrees provide me with knowledge of accountancy

practices, commerce, industry and finance. As well as developing a range of subject-
specific and technical skills, you also gain more general skills including: problem-
solving and analytical ability; oral and written communication skills.
 I will be able to utilize fundamental numerical mechanism of study.
 I will be allowed to apply facts from multiple references effectually.
 I will be able to scan problems related with organization and create practical output
built on present educational research in the department of an organization.
 I will be able to convert my theoretical knowledge in practical by using elective unit
available by the institution.
 I will be able to make my English language more sharp with the English speaking
environment.
 I can adapt with the multicultural environment because students from many
countries with different cultural group come for study.
Therefore, the skills and knowledge that I acquire from Ozford Institute of Higher Education
will be very helpful for me as soon as I come back to my country. These skills and knowledge
can only be obtained studying in western education system. Australia will uplift me with an
international degree and worldwide knowledge that will help me exposure in accounting
industry. Although I assure you that I am a temporary entrant and will be back to my
country after accomplishing my higher education.

Future Plans

After my bachelors I plan to use post study work (PSW) which is a two-year period time
where an international who have completed at least a degree and have studied for more
than two years can look for jobs and work for a two-year period. Australia is a home to
prestigious accounting firms and all big 5 accounting firms such as Ernst & Young, Deloitte &
Touche, Arthur Andersen, KPMG., Price Waterhouse Coopers have offices there. I have
opportunity to do internship from my institution which help me the most because in
internship will increases my industry contacts and convert my academic knowledge into
industry skills. These skills ultimately help me to apply in my home country after I return
back. I can use the work culture, way of performing the task, analyze the things and can
boost my career

I have an intimate desire to be a management consultant providing management advisory

services to different companies. The consulting service goes well beyond tax planning and
accounting and advice on issue such as mergers, and launch of new products comes under
area of management consulting. Also consultants play a vital role in installation of a new
system, or when a company goes from paper to electronic processing of accounting data,
inventory control, budgeting or financial planning. The subjects that I will study during my

Comparison of employment in home country of jobs with overseas Bachelor

degree

The bachelor’s degree from Australia is highly valued in Nepalese labor market due to their
quality and global recognition. Keeping in mind, my future career, I have chosen this course.
Australia is well known for its quality education, so getting a degree from this place would
definitely make me more competent to stand out amongst the competitive workforce.

During the beginning phase of my career life my monthly salary would be around NRS
50,000 or above as a mid-level manager in one of the above mentioned banks
http://www.salaryexplorer.com/salary-survey.php?loc=151&loctype=1&job=13&jobtype=1 . After
working as mid-level manager in a bank for few years I am assured that I will develop
required knowledge and practical abilities for working in the position of branch manager
where I expect to get salary around NRS 90,000. My dream is to become Chief Executive
Officer in one of the banks of Nepal which will take a lot of hard work and dedication and I
am ready to face all those hazards. I can search job through www.merojob.com,
www.kantipurjob.com, www.merojagir.com, www.kumarijob.com, www.cmsjob.com, and
many more websites.

Thus, I will have plenty of reason to return back to Nepal for succeeding professional career
in business or service sector. I hope the diversified and practical knowledge I will learn will
add significant value in contribution to the Nepalese auditing and accounting system. This
course will take my career to the next exposure which is pre-requisite to become the best in
my field. With the degree earned from Australia I see my future career in one of the leading
companies of Nepal like Nabil bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Ncell or may it be possible for
me to acquire higher position in Governmental organization. Hand on hand I would also
have a luminous career prospects securing a handsome monthly salary of around NPR
80,000 to 100,000 in mid-level managerial positions.

Hence, along with attaining higher level of knowledge and professionalism, I would also be
useful to my family as a responsible son as I have a moral obligation to care for my parents.

Incentive to return home

Besides my career interest, I have my parents and relatives towards whom I bear a lot of
responsibilities. I treasure my relations a lot and my parents are the most important part of
my life. They are the first teachers and motivated me in every step of my life. They have
gave up a lot of their dreams and happiness for mine, so soon it will be my turn to fulfill my
duties towards my parents. Being a responsible elder son I have immense responsibility
towards my family and want to ensure that they are provided with all the luxury, security
and care in their later phase of life. I am the first person from my family who is going foreign
for the purpose of further study. They have always supported me in my every decision for
my better career. My parents are supporting me because they also have believed that in
future I will pay back by supporting and taking care of them. I don’t want to break their
belief and I will never do so. I want to make my family feel proud of me. As they are
investing so much in my future I must be close to home to repay them in any way I can. I
also wish to be close to home when I raise my own family so my parents will meet their
grandchildren and my children will know all of their relatives. My dream of being a
successful banker and my love towards my family are two major reasons that will intend me
to come back to my own nation.

GDP in Nepal
The GDP raising in Nepal is also another reason why I wish to return home after I have
completed my studies and work experience. Being a developing country with GDP of USD
23.8 billion, there are both high prospects and challenges in every sector including
accounting and business. With a dominance of service sector contribution in Nepalese GDP,
i.e. 50.4%, there are plenty of opportunities for graduates in the field of accounting, banking
auditing and other fields.

Although we have very poor global competitiveness, it has been growing over the recent
years with the surge in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), financial liberalization policies and
stable fiscal system where investors are being facilitated by the rising number of financial
institutions. So, in these changing conditions, what our country requires is a skilled human
resource that can manage the diverse business in various responsibilities with greater
efficiency.

As we know that Nepal is in developing phase and it has been home for many international
and multinational companies that seek the employ who are well educated, qualified,
innovative and can compete to the global standards. Besides that, increased number of
development and commercial banks along with other type of financial institutions has
created demand of skilled professional and it is believed that by 2025 the number of
employers working in banking sector in Nepal will increase by 20%. Banks like Nepal SBI
Bank, Nabil Bank, Everest Bank, Sanima Bank, Nepal Bank Limited, Agriculture Development
Bank etc hire employers every year in different post ranging from clerk to manager offering
high salary and good incentives. I believe acquiring degree from Australia and my Post Study
Work would definitely help me to get a job in Nepal.

Cost Benefit Analysis

The costs of studying abroad are Obvious and Tangible, such as the cost of tuitions, which
are high when compared to the costs of study in Nepal, living expenses and travel expenses.
For my course, Bachelor of Business (Accounting), it costs AUD 9000 per semester for tuition
fees. The living expenses of Australia is AUD 20,290, travelling cost is AUD 2000, Overseas
health of Student Cover AUD 1838 and more in miscellaneous expenses. I accept that it cost
a lot to study in Australia but it will be more beneficial for me to complete my degree in
such a reputed institution with most demanded course in the current market. The benefits
are for me in my future that will outweigh the cost because my career is my future. The
amount that I spend is the investment for my future. Also, the intangible cost of staying
from loved ones for an extended period of time needs to be considered. Having considered
the costs, following are some of the benefits that studying abroad can bring.

 Make Friends from across cultures

 Improve your English speaking and communication skills
 Increase your personal brand value
 Build an Alumni Network.

This benefits, though intangible is nevertheless of great value to me and add to my

experience and my employability throughout my career. After returning back to Nepal by
studying abroad will be given preference over other candidates in job selection as I bring
with me, not only a global culture but also a network of contacts from different countries of
the world.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT

My parents have been generous, caring and the perfect role model for me. My parents have
always been so supportive to enhance my own career. So both my father and my mother
are my sponsors during my study and stay at Australia.

With regards to my family income, my father is earning his income from land lease and
house rent of NPR 852,000 and my mother earn Nrs 324,000 through land lease as well as
she is the marketing manager of Parijat saving and credit cooperative and earn Nrs 520,000.
My mother is also a retired government teacher and she get pension NRS 141,000 every
year. As a whole my mother and father earn NRs 1,837,000 annually which is demonstrated
on income source certificate. Furthermore, my mother has also Bank balance of Nrs
4,001,500.00 which is equivalent to AUD $ 51,853.05 in saving account of Mega Bank
Limited.

My family is economically sound and a responsible family who think Australia will provide a
safe environment for me to get a high quality education.
