Our Mission:

To cooperatively increase the capacity of low-income families to advocate on their own behalf
for policy and community change.

Our Vision:

We envision a unified base of broad coalitions that work together and share power to create an
Alabama that works for all and ensures that all have an equal voice.

How AEVN Measures Success:

● Building Strength Within the Network (LEAD: Network Weaver)


○ OBJECTIVE:
■ To learn from each organization within the network
■ Share resources
■ Widen and deepen our relationships with our community
■ Increased connectivity among network leadership and staff
○ STRATEGY:
■ Engaging in network activities together
■ Monthly network meetings that
● Allows network staff and leadership to check in on a personal level
● Include high level updates on the work being accomplished by
each organization (ex. Doing a deep dive with one org per
meeting)
● Open the opportunity to share needs and resources
■ Finding the ways to incorporate relationship building across our
strategies.

■ To keep policies that are harmful to our constituents from being passed.
■ To sway public opinion on the issues the network collaborates on.

■ Sharing and aligning policy agendas.
■ Coordinating around funding (ex. Governor Ivy’s federal dollars).
■ Communicating important policy objectives and formally requesting
network support.
