Subject: Additional Information/ Explanation regarding my previous student visa rejection.
Dear Sir/Madam,
I would like to provide the following additional information in support of my application for
a student visa.
I Keerthi Stanlyraj Geethajasmine, applied for student visa for May 2020 intake for
Environmental Studies (Post Degree) in Cape Breton University. Unfortunately, my visa
application got rejected stating that -:
“I am not Satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in
subsection 216(1) pf the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit”.
So, I would like to clarify briefly about my purpose of visit.
My purpose of visit to Canada is genuinely for studies. Ever since I graduated, I
always wanted to specialize in Environmental Engineering. Fortunately, protecting the
environment has become the need of the hour and sustainability being the latest buzz word in
the construction industry, Environmental Engineering is fancied as one among the blooming
career opportunity in India. However, I was unable to pursue higher studies in Environmental
Engineering right after my graduation since I got an admission to learn Building Information
Modelling. After being interned as a Civil Engineer for a short time, I rediscovered myself as
an environmentalist and my true passion lies in conserving the surrounding we live in, by
quality management of the air, water and energy resources which are the very essence of a
healthy natural atmosphere.
I would like to point out how crucial environmental innovation is, in my country at
this instant. As an Agricultural country with growing urbanization, the hazards of
industrialization are lest unchecked. India builds its fortune on an unchecked or poorly
checked byproduct of the so-called industrialization, which is becoming a potential threat to
the Nature and its resources. Hence professionals with a sound knowledge in Environmental
Science and Engineering is of great demand and immediate need in various Government and
Nonprofit organizations like Department of Environment, State’s Pollution Control Board
and Directorate of Environment and Climate Change etc., to plan and execute any long-
lasting promising objectives, that might transform my mother country of, to attain the dream
goal of pure air and fertile soil. Hence it is of prime importance for me to attain apt
knowledge in Environmental Engineering if I am about to transform for the greater good.
Despite having a reliable education system in India, more practical oriented approach
in learning is needed since in India one must gain experience after study to do skillful work
while in Canada working capability is attained as we complete the program. Hence studying
in an Educational Organization of world-class quality, especially from a country with proven
history of successful implementation of various environmental techniques, in prior situations
that has challenged the Environmental Conservation and Management, was my final thought.
As we all know, Canada is one among the Nations that have inspired several developing
Nations by its successful management of Environmental Crisis that the country had faced two
decade back. Not to mention, the organization which my husband works for, in planning and
designing Environmental Projects jointly with Kerala State Pollution Control board, sends its
employees to various Nations to study their techniques, in which Canada is one among them
with an ocean of knowledge having a lot to learn from the way it protects its environment.
Inspired from this, I believe studying in Canada would give me an opportunity to explore
wide knowledge in this matter.
After my stipulated course I am willing to come back to India because I am a
nostalgic person who cherishes my native place and wants to balance my family life and
professional life. My family is well settled in Kerala and most of my relatives are in Kerala
itself. My husband is working as a project engineer in a reputed multinational environmental
organization in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. As a wife according to the tradition and culture
that I was brought up in it’s my responsibility to take care of my husband.
The education system in Canada is one of the best in the world and it has an
unmatched value back in my country. Hence I have chosen Cape Breton University as a mode
to brighten and furnish my theoretical and practical knowledge and come back to my country
to accomplish my dream of establishing an Environmental Organization with my husband.
So, I kindly request you to reconsider my application in the light of the above-
mentioned reasons and grant me the permission to pursue for Environmental Studies in Cape
Breton University.
Yours faithfully,
xxxxxxx
