Class description: 24 students


School has block schedule (90 minutes each class)
Settle down/daily ice breaker 5 minutes

Subject/skill: Multicultural Education

Modifications: Merge groups if class is smaller.

Group Structures: 6 groups of 4 students—Groups are to be assigned at the beginning of class.


When a student walks in they will be assigned a number from 1-6. Students will sit with the
those who have the same number upon entering the classroom. (Attendance will be taken at the
door.)

Assessment: Students have 6 minutes to brainstorm a list of three random subjects they would
like to revolve their poster around. Students do need teacher approval of topic in order to begin.
Students will incorporate Multicultural Education to their topic. Students can get as creative as
they’d like and spend the rest of the class time working.

Closure: ASK STUDENT What is Multicultural Education? Do you believe MC should be


incorporate in the classroom and WHY? What will you do in and outside of school to be
more inclusive?
