How to Install, Create an Account, and Navigate Through Discord on iPhone
Discord is a free social media platform that is similar to Skype, TeamSpeak, and other platforms
where people can communicate. Discord supports video calls, voice chat, and messaging that
allows users to communicate however they so choose. Discord was originally intended to be
used by individuals who play video games, allowing them a means by which they can easily
communicate and coordinate with each other while playing, however, Discord can be used by
anyone and for anything. Discord’s versatility has granted it widespread popularity among
people and you can find a server for almost any topic, whether it be video games, TV shows,
movies, books, art, animation, anime/manga, and even philosophy if you so choose. This
document will walk you through the basics of how to use Discord and create a server.
1. Open the app store and type “Discord” in the search bar.
2. Download and install Discord. The bubble that says “open” in the picture will say “get”.
3. When you open up the app, you will be asked to register.

4. When you tap register, you can enter either your phone number or email. Note that
either choice will not affect registration.

username, a secure password, then tap “Next”.
6. Enter your date of birth and tap “Create an account”.
7. Next you will be asked to create a server. Note that this is not required and can be done
later. Move on to step 8 if you wish to create one.

8. Next you will be asked if the server is for a group of friends or for a community. Either
choice will not affect your outcome. You can also choose to skip this question.
9. Pick a name and picture for your server and tap “Create Server”.
10. Type what the theme or topic of your server will be then tap “Take me to my server”.

11. You can invite a friend by tapping on “Share Link” and selecting a contact of your choice.
To skip this step, simply tap anywhere outside of the gray pop-up box.

12. Congratulations! You have created your account and made your first server.

Discord has many features that allow users to create the “perfect server” to fit their needs. This
next part will teach you how to create and manage channels.
1. Once on this screen, swiping to the right will reveal your servers and channels.
2. To create a channel, tap on the plus sign located to the right of “Text Channels”.

3. Type in a name for the channel, select the channel type, determine whether the channel
will be public or private, then tap “Create”.
4. Once the channel has been made, you will be able to make edits but tapping on the
option that says “Edit channel”. Here you can insert the channel topic and delete the
channel if you so choose.

With all this being said, you should have a basic understanding of how Discord works and how
to use it.
