Brandon reflects on difficult life changes during a time of hardship and loss of hope. Early mornings were spent trying to catch the first public transport to work in the fields or do odd jobs since unemployment was rampant. Boys turned to drugs and crime due to the pain of poverty and lack of opportunity. Faith and folktales became a way to cope with the "disgraceful" conditions as corruption ran through the city. Each day blended into the next with little hope of improvement. Through it all, prayer and faith in God helped increase people's belief that they would survive these difficult times.

Life Changes....

😔By Brandon Dzingai

✓ I hereby express my Gratitude to you all and this is just part of the
tremendous story which i am writing For our dear friends who have lost hope about
life that everything is gonna be okay and always ask yourself the Question why...😭

First Day
Birds twinkling past our houses everyday, they had become our source and only
intervals of time; Why?Was it because they was no electricity or it was now part of
us that we were being woken up by birds...Why?

Early Morning jogs were now being taken to use because that was the only way people
could exercise owing to the gyms which were closed down due to the massive hit that
had taken us by surprise..Why?Us children seeing and being told things that were
weren’t suppose to hear and being told because those were the last days i and my
dear family saw each other 😭 Parents always fighting about money shortages... our
dear fathers no longer going out for drinking because all the bar clubs had been
shut down 😔 Shear fights , loud cryings, dogs barking and church ladies praying;
The city was coming to its major end... Why?

Public transport being introduced and we always woke up at 4:30Am tryna catch the
first couch...☹️. As poverty has stricken at our doors we couldnt catch the first
couch because we were in the fields planting and harvesting our crops...Why? Is it
because we didn’t have faith in God or it was because we couldn’t see what was our
destiny like “no one had the answers to these questions? Boys of my Age wandering
in the streets, some extorting to drugs because they couldn’t bear the pain of
seeing our parents always crying about our destiny and i witnessing all of this
made me think will i do it.

Folktales and myths were a hobby for us as they was no fish to catch and no tv to
watch... life was now a disgrace for us and we had to live just to improve our
parents’ life and reach the standards they didn’t... My father always being
shackled up by the police why because corruption was in the city and employment
opportunities now doomed and people who had their certificates being left in the
streets... Why?

My friend and i , introducing new campaign modes and informationally advertising

them but all went in vain... The city was jus for those who had high ranks and us
followers of God , our Faith being tested as we lost hope about life and all the
major sacrifices we made ...Dwelling in prayers was now like making coffee because
we didnt have any experience on those kinda of routines and were now engaged to
them and this was to show us that God is seeing us and making us believe in his
parables and our faith increased day by day ...Why?
Day 2
Sunset to sunset...Day in Day out ...Cops, cops, cops... me and my fellow brothers
running in the streets ,cops
“saying catch them” as we didn’t have any idea about those so called masks 😹Aha we
were just clueless about wearing masks as we had been anonymous to the city...
Luckily we escaped and we reached too old rank how shocked we were to see 😀
