Prayer: On entering the home, have ready:
Holy Water, lighted incense, blessed chalk.
Leader: Peace be to this house.
All: And to all who dwell herein.
All: From the east came the Magi to Bethlehem
to adore the Lord; and opening their treasures
they offered precious gifts: gold for the great
King, incense for the true God, and myrrh in
symbol of His burial.
All Pray: The Magnificat
My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, my
spirit rejoices in God my Savior
for he has looked with favor on his lowly
servant. From this day, all generations will call
me blessed: the Almighty has done great things
for me, and holy is his Name.
He has mercy on those who fear him in every generation. He has shown the strength of
his arm, he has scattered the proud in their conceit.
He has cast down the mighty from their thrones, and has lifted up the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent away empty.
He has come to the help of his servant Israel for he remembered his promise of mercy,
the promise he made to our fathers, to Abraham and his children forever.
During the Magnificat, each room is sprinkled with holy water and incensed. After this is
completed…
All: From the east came the Magi to Bethlehem to adore the Lord; and opening their

Leader: Our Father… and lead us not into temptation
All: But deliver us from evil.
Leader: All they from Saba shall come
All: Bringing gold and frankincense.
Leader: O Lord, hear my prayer.
All: And let my cry come to You.
Leader: Let us pray. O God, who by the guidance of a star did on this day manifest
Your only-begotten Son to the Gentiles, mercifully grant that we who know You by faith
may also attain the vision of Your glorious majesty. Through Christ our Lord.
All: Amen.
Leader: Be enlightened, be enlightened, O Jerusalem, for your light is come, and the
glory of the Lord is risen upon you - Jesus Christ born of the Virgin Mary.
All: And the Gentiles shall walk in your light and kings in the splendor of your rising, and
the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.
Leader: Let us pray.
Bless, + O Lord God almighty, this home, that in it there may be health, purity, the
strength of victory, humility, goodness and mercy, the fulfillment of Your law, the
thanksgiving to God the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. May this blessing
remain upon this home and upon all who dwell herein. Through Christ our Lord.
All: Amen.
After the prayers of the blessing are recited, the lintel (top doorframe) of the exterior
door(s) of the home are then marked with the initials of the Magi are inscribed upon the
doors with the blessed chalk. Example: 20 + C + M + B + 21. Other doorframes may
be marked similarly.

Bendición de la epifanía Para el hogar
Oración: Al entrar a la casa, tener preparado:
Agua bendita, incienso encendido, tiza bendita.
Líder: Paz sea a esta casa.
Todos: Y a todos los que aquí habitan.
Todos: Desde el este vinieron los Magos a
Belén para adorar al Señor; y abriendo sus
tesoros ofrecieron dones preciosos: oro para el
gran Rey, incienso para el Dios verdadero, y
mirra en símbolo de Su sepultura.
Todos oren: Magnificat
Proclama mi alma la grandeza del Señor, y se
alegra mi espíritu en Dios, mi Salvador;
porque ha mirado la humillación de su esclava.
Desde ahora me felicitarán todas las
generaciones, porque el Poderoso ha hecho
obras grandes en mí: su nombre es santo, y su
misericordia llega a sus fieles de generación en generación.
Él hace proezas con su brazo; dispersa a los soberbios de corazón, derriba del trono a
los poderosos y enaltece a los humildes, a los hambrientos los colma de bienes y a los
ricos los despide vacíos.
Auxilia a Israel, su siervo, acordándose de la misericordia como lo había prometido a
nuestros padres en favor de Abrahán y su descendencia por siempre. Amén.
Durante el Magnificat, cada habitación se rocía con agua bendita y se inciensa.
Después de esto se completa…
Todos: Desde el este vinieron los Magos a Belén para adorar al Señor; y abriendo sus
tesoros ofrecieron dones preciosos: oro para el gran Rey, incienso para el Dios
verdadero y mirra en símbolo de su sepultura.
Líder: Padre nuestro... y no nos metas en tentación
Todos: Más líbranos del mal.
Líder: Todos los de Saba vendrán
Todos: Trayendo oro e incienso.
Líder: Oh Señor, oye mi oración.
Todos: Y deja que mi grito llegue a Ti.
Líder: Oremos. Oh Dios, que por la guía de una estrella manifestó en este día a tu Hijo
unigénito a los gentiles, concédenos misericordiosamente que los que te conocemos
por fe también alcancemos la visión de Tu gloriosa majestad. Por Cristo nuestro Señor.
Todos: Amén.
Líder: Ilumina, ilumina, oh Jerusalén, porque ha venido tu luz, y la gloria del Señor ha
nacido sobre ti - Jesucristo, nacido de la Virgen María.
Todos: Y los gentiles andarán en tu luz y los reyes en el esplendor de tu ascenso, y la
gloria del Señor ha nacido sobre ti.
Líder: Oremos.
Bendice, + oh Señor Dios todopoderoso, este hogar, para que en él haya salud, pureza,
fuerza de victoria, humildad, bondad y misericordia, el cumplimiento de tu ley, la acción
de gracias a Dios Padre y al Hijo y a El espíritu santo. Que esta bendición permanezca
sobre este hogar y sobre todos los que habitan aquí. Por Cristo nuestro Señor.
Todos: Amén.
Después de recitar las oraciones de la bendición, el dintel (marco superior de la puerta)
de la puerta exterior de la casa se marca con las iniciales de los Magos inscritas en las
puertas con la tiza bendita. Ejemplo: 20 + C + M + B + 21. Otros marcos de puertas
pueden marcarse de manera similar.
