IMPLEMENTATION What Is JAVA? Java is a class-based, object-oriented programming language which serves as a
computing platform for application development. Java is fast, secure, and reliable. It is used for creating Java
applications in laptops, gaming consoles, data centres, cell phones, scientific supercomputers etc. Java is: –
Concurrent which implies you can execute numerous statements rather than sequentially executing it. Class-
based and object-oriented programming language. Independent programming language following the logic of “Write
once, run anywhere” (WORA) that is the compiled code can run on all platforms, supporting Java. Features of Java:
History: James Gosling with other team members named Mike Sheridan and Patrick Naughton also called as Green
Team developed Java programming language in 1995 for Sun Microsystems for digital devices such as set-top boxes,
televisions etc. Now, let us explore the real life applications in detail. REAL LIFE APPLICATIONS: 1.WEB BASED
APPLICATIONS: Utilizing the assets and codes, it is very simple to form feasible web- applications and pages. Many of the
leading entertainment pages, business sites and other heavy profile websites are based on JavaScript. Java supports the
development of web pages and applications by using servlets, struts, JSF (Java Server Faces) and JSP (Java Server
Pages), Spring, Hibernate and web-servers like Resin, Apache Tomcat, Apache HTTP server, adobe JRun, etc. Servlets
and JSPs are the server-side components that help to develop the business logic of the web application. JSP is an
extension of servlet as it has more features as compared to the servlet. Java provides easy security and coding which
enables the development of a large number of applications for social security, health, insurance, games and education.
2.Enterprise Applications and websites: Enterprise applications are designed to integrate computer systems that run all
phases of an enterprise’s operations to facilitate cooperation and coordination of work across the enterprise. Java
provides a few adaptable and effective features, assets and security features that make applications capable and secure
as well. The enterprise apps and web sites require more security that keeps information secure and at a reliable pace.
With the assistance of java, designers are able to code these programs well and keep everything secure. Numerous bank
applications are created utilizing Java. Oracle Corporation claims that “about 97% of enterprise applications use Java for
development of large-scale software”. Java fulfils the most important requirement which is security. Java runs JVM (Java
Virtual Machine), which verifies the bytecode coming from the outside frameworks, which eventually prevents security
breaches. This is the reason why most of the bank applications are developed on the Java platform. Big companies like
Google, TCS, Infosys, Flipkart, Wipro, eBay, Spotify, Uber, etc. use Java. 3.Mobile Applications A development language
for your application must be well chosen which helps to run your mobile app effectively and assist you to get the most
out of it. Java is one of the most well-known languages and widely used for creating most of the applications since the
applications that are created by utilizing Java are cross-platform suitable. In today’s time, majority of phones have
Android OS and Android improvement isn’t possible without Java. Java Micro Edition (Java ME or J2ME) is a well-known
cross-platform system that is utilized to design applications, that runs on all smartphones and is compatible with Kotlin
and Android Studio. Applications like Spotify, Twitter, Signal, Google Earth, Netflix are designed using Java. 4.Scientific
Applications A scientific application is an application that affects real-world activities using mathematics. Java opens up
opportunities for analysts to look into things from a different angle. It is efficient with numerical calculations and
probability tests. Java supports the development of scientific applications, because of its powerful features. Java provides
a secure, fast and portable environment and hence becomes the best choice for writing scientific applications revolving
around scientific calculations and mathematical operations. It has effective scientific features which provide the same
results on different platforms, that is why designers select Java for logical applications. MATLAB is one of the popular
scientific applications which uses Java for developing both front-end and back-end. Scientific applications related to
Space, Research, Medical Science are programmed using Java. 5.Embedded Systems An embedded system is defined as
a computer system which is a combination of a processor, memory i.e., RAM/ROM, and i/o devices that has a dedicated
function within a larger mechanical or electronic system. Embedded system is a combination of computer hardware and
software designed for a specific function. Java is fast which can be critical when utilizing low-power/low-speed
processors, and it is robust - which handles exceptions securely. Java programs are fit for running on hard disk, floppy
disk and network connections. Subscriber Identity Module that is SIM cards in our phones have been using a variant of
the Java Card for two decades. Devices like BlueRay Disc players, utility meters, televisions, entertainment and
multimedia systems in cars as well as mobile computing and networking use Java technology. 6.Cloud Based
Applications A cloud application a service that provides on-demand availability of IT resources via the internet. It
provides a solution for IT infrastructure at a low cost, as we can save files on remote databases and retrieve them on
demand. Java provides us with features that can help us build applications used in SaaS (Software-as-a-service), IaaS
(Infrastructure-as-a-service) and PaaS (Platform-as-a-service) development. There are numerous Java cloud development
devices like Oracle. Java cloud service gives a platform to create and design the servers. Companies use Java to design
their applications remotely or help them share data with others. Amazon Web Service provides several tools for working
with Java. This case study gives the readers an overview as to why choose Java in their personal interventions and
covers all aspects starting from history to its features and finally, its significant applications. REFERENCES:
