COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course tells us how to create an account, implement tracking code, and set up data filters.
We get to learn how to navigate the Google Analytics interface and reports, and set up
dashboards and shortcuts. The course will also demonstrate how to analyze basic Audience,
Acquisition, and Behavior reports, and set up goals and campaign tracking.

It also talks about the Google Tag Manager which is used in managing all your website tags
without editing code. It delivers simple, reliable, easily integrated tag management solutions—
for free.
a) INTRODUCTION

Google Analytics is a free web analytics service offered by Google. It helps


website and app owners (both organizations and individuals) track and report on all
kinds of data from their users. Google purchased the web statistics analysis
company Urchin in 2005, forming Google Analytics shortly after. Since its launch,
it’s grown to become the most widely used web analytics software on the internet.

Google has been making improvements to the platform since its launch, adding
new features, refining their approach, and making the tool essential for just about
every online business. At its heart, Google Analytics gives companies the chance
to understand their customers through the data they produce.

The service provides a wide range of tools that are useful for getting an insight into
how people use websites. With relatively little technical knowledge, users can gain
a comprehensive and easy-to-understand glimpse at a variety of relevant factors.
b) OBJECTIVES

 Able to find out how your visitors locate your website

Other than the core set of keyword that you are optimizing, you will
likewise have the capacity to discover what other keywords your visitors type in
to discover your website. During the initial optimization campaign, the quantity

your customers tend to respond to. The tool gives you the chance to get
detailed layers of information related to your online channels. You can then
plan and adjust your approach and understand if it’s working and what needs
changing.

One of the most useful things about GA is that, once set up, it takes
relatively little effort to get detailed reports. Daily, weekly, monthly, and
annual statistics about a variety of factors can be automatically generated and
shared with key stakeholders within an organisation. You can also review
information at any time to monitor the impact of campaigns, channel
improvements, or website changes.

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION

a) Technologies involved

Google Analytics uses a programming language called JavaScript to


transmit information to Google’s servers about site visitors. JavaScript is an
(almost) universal language that allows coders and developers to make sites
interactive.

When we see a website, the text, images, and other information contained
in a page are saved in HTML format, which your browser decodes and
displays.

An easy way to think about this is that HTML is like the .doc file format
used for Microsoft Word Documents. Like a Word Document, an HTML file
can tell the computer what text to display, where to include images and
tables, and what formatting to use.

identify the audience and get their relative information and from which
source they are coming helps the organization to concentrate their resources
to make their final customers. As the trend is changing, internet becomes
everything and there is full reliance makes the need of Google analytics
which can give the insight of the website.

CONCLUSION

In Google Analytics, we can do wonders for your business in more advanced


ways. It provides you with valuable insights that can be used to improve the
performance of your website and increase conversions. Since nowadays almost all
the businesses have an online presence through a website. Therefore, it becomes
very important for you to learn the inner structure of your website to see whether it
is accomplishing its purpose or not. For this, you need to know the details of what
people do when they visit your website, how long they stay and what all pages do
they visit on your website. Irrespective of whether you are ecommerce website or
an informative blog, you would definitely want to understand and study the
behavior of your visitors to deliver better results.
