TASK 1:
The vice chancellor of IoBM identified the need to develop the curriculum and make it more
innovative, which can enable students to focus more and find learning interesting. For this
purpose a meeting was scheduled on 22nd march 2021. It started around 11AM and ended at
2PM. The topic of discussion was the overall performance of the students in the former year
and the need for advancement in the curriculum. The discussion was fruitful and we gave a lot
of recommendations, including the idea of adding movies in curriculum, which would enable
students to relate with the topics and concepts of each course and bring about professionalism
in their character.
TASK 2:

Hello sir!
On the basis of our discussion in the meeting we have decided that we should add movies in
our curriculum which will enable undergraduate students to learn effectively.
We have chosen five programs; Accounting and Finance, Business and Psychology, Economics
and Finance, BBA, Mathematics and computational finance. Under these programs, we chose
five major courses. Our intention to make specific movies mandatory for each course is to make
them more exciting for the students. Since, the present Pandemic scenario has disturbed the
routine of the students to some extent and they have lost interest in education, so as per our
meeting with you, we have picked up some movies which will motivate students and will help
them cater the needs of 21st century.
MOVIE 1:
Our first choice of movie is Pursuit of happiness for Principles of management, under the
program Accounting and Finance.

The movie portrays that life is a battle for single parent Chris Gardner (Will Smith). Expelled
from their apartment, he and his young child get themselves alone with no spot to go. Despite
the fact that Chris in the end handles a task as an understudy at a renowned financier firm, the
position pays no cash. The pair should live in covers and bear numerous difficulties, yet Chris
won't refuse to surrender as he battles to make a superior life for himself and his child. He
appears to have been on a mission since the time his child was born; to be the dad that he
won't ever have. No matter what happens, he planned to discover the best approach to give his
child the sort of benefits that were absolutely too far for him.
This will help students understand that we need to figure out what sort of mission we are on
the off chance that we need to keep the fire torching when affliction is pouring on our vocation.
Furthermore, Chris highlighted the importance of determination. Students will understand that
individuals who succeed have made up their minds about what they need. Chris decided and
stayed with it. That at first elaborates at least 200 telephone dials a day to individuals who
regularly hung upon him. A great many people don't have that sort of conviction, which is the
reason they flop in unremarkably.
MOVIE 2:
The second program we are choosing is Mathematics and Computational finance and the
course we are selecting is calculus. The movie that best fits the concepts of this course is “Pi”.

The movie "Pi" highlights a tortured man believing that mathematics is the language of the
universe. He believed that numbers can be used to understand nature and that everything has
patterns. Furthermore, he believed that patterns are the key to chaos and they can predict
anything. For instance, if the man is right, the mystery of existence is open and if he is not right,
then his brain begins to match with a jammed stock ticker.
The movie best fits the concepts of calculus i.e. it highlights that everything can be understood
in terms of numbers and the course itself focuses on getting students to apply the problem
solving techniques in practical life using complex equations and expressions. This movie will
surely motivate students apply mathematics in real life believing the fact that it is not just a
subject, but a language of the entire universe.
MOVIE 3:
The next program we are thinking of is BBA and the course we are selecting is Entrepreneur
Leadership and motivation. The movie that we consider best to be added in the curriculum is
“Joy”. The movie revolves around the character Mangano and the struggles throughout her
road to success. Regardless of confronting a few difficulties, Joy, a divorced mother of two,
ascents despite seemingly insurmountable opposition and sets up a fruitful business realm. An
account of a family across four ages focused on the young lady who turns into the one who
establishes a business line and turns into an authority by her own doing. Confronting disloyalty,

unfairness, the deficiency of honesty, and the scars of adoration, Joy turns into a genuine
manager of family and venture in a universe of unforgiving business. Partners become foes and
enemies become partners, both inside and outside the family, as Joy's inward life and furious
creative mind bring her through the tempest she faces.
This movie links with the concepts of the course as it will enable students to learn that ‘when
life gives lemons, make lemonade’. Moreover, it will inspire students to work harder towards
their goal of becoming a leader and have their own business. This movie leaves a very
important message that making jobs is better than doing jobs. Despite of all the obstacles and
hardships she still had her successful business venture. This movie can motivate students to
have their own ventures.
MOVIE 4:
Business and Psychology is the following program in our thought, and the course we are picking
is Developmental Psychology. We feel that Forest Gump lines up with the ideas of this course.
We accept this film is a significant portrayal of how formative mental ideas of nature and
nature add to the intellectual and actual advancement of a person. The film shows us how an
individual, who isn't extremely shrewd, accomplishes ponders.

Forest Gump is brought into the world in an unassuming community in Alabama USA, with just
his mom to raise him up. So from the beginning, the film shows him in a tough spot. It is
perceived what not having a male parent means for his life. Throughout the film, we've seen his
improvement through school, the Vietnam War, and his business. The hero's sheer will is the
thing that we accept will motivate every one of the students watching this film. They will figure
out how our different encounters will assist us with building up an individual. There is a
splendid depiction of how your experience (sustain) can help conquer your introduction to the
world insufficiencies. The students will see this, as he can run regardless of having his legs
limited by supports. Also, they will discover that various characters have various qualities and
shortcomings, since Forest is shown as an individual with a low IQ and a straightforward way of
life, yet his character is the justification his prosperity and every one of the deficiencies. The
film fuses different instructive angles like ventures, making business, negative effects of
medication misuse and liquor, lastly the significance of family.
MOVIE 5:
Moving further, we are keeping Economics and Finance in our rundown, and the courses we are
picking are micro and macroeconomics, since they offer a great deal of ideas to realize, which

are fundamental for comprehension and applying information into the corporate world,
economy, market, improvement and downturn. The film we are picking is back to the Future.
In this film Marty Mcfly heads out through an ideal opportunity to visit 1955, 1985 in 2015 and
the more things change the more things stay something very similar. 1955 was extremely like
1985. The film depicts US economy in 1955 and 1985 for e.g. The film shows that the cost of the
film ticket in 1955 was just 50 pennies, while, in 1985 it was 3 dollars and 50 pennies. This
correlation will assist students with a superior comprehension of the development rate, GDP
and nominal GDP. Moreover the film additionally depicts three kinds of unemployment. Firstly,
the film shows frictional unemployment for example exchanging between occupations due to
getting terminated when Martin Mcfly accepts that he is terminated subsequent to watching a
video and getting a paper with the content " you're fired!!!" from a printer. Besides, structural
unemployment is additionally shown for example abilities and occupations become outdated
and there's no more interest for that sort of work for example when laborers are supplanted by
innovation and robots. In the film, Martin notices a robot inviting him at Texaco, and the help of
lifting up the vehicles.
These scenes will empower students to get a more extensive image of joblessness, and
generally this film will be an incredible expansion to the educational plan.
We hope that our suggestions are useful for the curriculum and that students will be able to
develop skills essential for the professional setting.
