Concept Note
The Department of Yoga & Consciousness, Andhra University,
Visakhapatnam was established and inaugurated by His Excellency, Jnani Zail
Singh, President of India in the year 1985. Located on the serene beaches of Bay
of Bengal, and having scenic surroundings to its advantage, the department oper-
ates with an academic/research wing and an extension wing. It is fondly called
as Yoga Village by the locals. In these challenging times, the department of Yoga
and Consciousness, Andhra university, comes forward to spread awareness
among various sections of society on modern and traditional methods to boost
human immunity.
The unifying hope for ending the global COVID-19 pandemic is the devel-
opment of adequate population-level immunity to halt the continuing cycles of
infection and disease. And yet, until safe and effective vaccines are available,
natural immunity and public health measures are the primary approaches to
managing pandemics. Although many vaccines have been already developed
and many more vaccine candidates are under trials, it has been reiterated by
medical and scientific community that natural immunity has a big role to play in
prevention, management and in rehabilitation of COVID-19.
In view of this, Inter University Centre for Yogic Sciences(IUCYS),
Bengaluru has planned to host a series of seminars/ workshops on virtual mode.
Inspired by the above gesture, and with an intension to oblige the direction from
IUCYS, the Department of Yoga and Consciousness, Andhra University is con-
ducting a 2 day International seminar titled “Dynamic Approaches to Strengthen
