Engineering Request Installation of Security Camera on the Lighting Pole
Title:

1.0 Project Description:
Kinsevere Maintenance Project want to use a decommissioned lighting mat as the supporting structure
for Security camera HIK type, that want to be installed at 20M above the ground level, leading us to a
Lighting mat section of 50MM OD, 3.18MM thickness.
2.0 Engineering Summary:
A basic pumping model in Fluid flow software was developed where 4 different cases were simulated to
see the best fit for the application in between VSP 08160/07 B3 75kW, VSP08160/08 / 110KW / 8 inch,
VSP10210/6 110kW, VSP10210/08 / 147KW / 10 inch.
The VSP 08160/07 B3 75kW has been discarded as the TDH at 7l/s is 252.99 m which is above
the Pump Dead Head with a value of 190m.
The VSP08160/08 / 110KW / 8 inch will give a flow of 17.92 l/s at 255.97 m and 53.59%
efficiency, 85.7kW Power
The VSP10210/08 / 147KW / 10 inch will give a duty flow of 28.24 l/s at 260.89 m and 62.54%
efficiency, 118kW Power
In conclusion, The VSP08160/08 110kW will have a flow near the expected one of 7l/s compared to the
VSP10210/08 / 147KW Pump, but will run with a very low efficiency far from the recommended area,
whereas the VSP10210/08 / 147KW will run near its recommended flow rate. Although the presence of
a excessive difference of almost 21l/s in the flow rate with the requested flow from the client, the
VSP10210/08 / 147KW will be a good fit for the application and maintain water level at 145m with
special care on the running strategy as this might ending up burning the pump if it runs dry.
The running strategy to avoid running the pump dry will be to monitor static water level and stop the
pump when the level reaches 145m bgl. Collect Water level 10 Hrs Later to record the recovery flow
which will allow developing an appropriate running start and stop strategy.
Additional information related to cable size will be added later once the last decision has been made by
the client on the pump.
3.0 Scope of Work:
