1. Remove three bolts (1) that hold the clutch to the flywheel. Put the flat washers on the bolts and install in holes (2) in the
cover plate. Tighten the bolts evenly and pull the pressure plate back against the cover plate.
3. Remove the other bolts that hold the clutch to the flywheel.
4. Slide the clutch away from the flywheel. Install tooling (B) and fasten a hoist and remove the clutch (3). The weight is 100
lb. (45 kg).
10. Remove ring (9) and retainer (8) from the hub.
11. Remove the bearing race from the flywheel with tooling (C).
2. Install the retainer and ring on the hub. Heat bearing (2) to a maximum temperature of 275°F (135°C). Install bearing (2)
on the hub. Install ring (1) on the hub.
6. Install two 1/2"-13 NC by 8" guide bolts (5) in the flywheel. Install tooling (B) and fasten a hoist (not shown) to the clutch.
Install the clutch and the bolts that hold it to the flywheel. Remove three bolts (6) and install them in the flywheel.

start by:
1. Install three 1/2"-13 NC x 2 1/4" bolts (1) with flat washers in the cover plate. Tighten the bolts evenly and pull the plate
against the cover plate.
2. Remove nut (2) and pin (3). Remove levers (4) and the springs.
3. Loosen bolts (1) evenly until there is no pressure between the plates. Remove cover plate (6).
5. Remove bearing (9) from the lever with tooling (A). Remove two pins (8) and retainer (7).
6. Remove springs (10), pins (11) and the screws from pressure plate (12).
1. Install the retainers and make the ends of the retainers flat to hold them in place.
4. Install three 1/2"-13 NC x 2 1/4" bolts with flat washers in the cover plate. Tighten the bolts evenly and pull the pressure
plate against the cover plate.
5. Install the retainer in the lever. Install two pins even with the outside face of the lever. Install the bearings in the lever with
tooling (A). The junction in the bearings must be 90° from the length of the lever.
end by:
3. Make an adjustment to the length of control rod (6) until clearance (B) between release yoke (2) and button (5) in the cage
is .012 ± .003 in. (0.30 ± 0.08 mm).
4. Remove the cotter pin that holds adjusting nut (1) and move the nut until clearance (A) between release lever (3) and
thrust ring (4) is .12 ± .02 in. (3.0 ± 0.5 mm).
5. Install the cotter pin. Turn the clutch as needed to reach the other two adjusting nuts (1). Follow the same procedure to
check clearance (B) again.
6. Make an adjustment to the interlock linkage. See ADJUST INTERLOCK MECHANISM in TESTING AND ADJUSTING.
