ABSTRACT

Human computer communication has growing demand recent days. The new generation of
autonomous technology aspires to give computer interfaces emotional states that relate and
consider user as well as system environment considerations. In the existing computational model
is based an artificial intelligent and externally by multi-modal expression augmented with semi
human characteristics. But the main problem with is multi-model expression is that the hardware
control given to the Artificial Intelligence (AI) is very limited. So, in our project we are trying to
give the Artificial Intelligence (AI) more control on the hardware. There are two main parts such
as Speech to Text (STT) and Text to Speech (TTS) engines are used accomplish the requirement.
In this work, we are using a speaker and a mic as hardware and for the programing part, we are
using python scripting.

1. INTRODUCTION

A virtual assistant is a technology based on Artificial Intelligence. The software uses a device’s
microphone to receive voice requests while the voice output takes place at the speaker. But the most
exciting thing happens between these two actions.

It is a combination of several di¦erent technologies: voice recognition, voice analysis and language processing.

When a user asks a Virtual Assistant to perform a task, the natural language audio signal is converted into
digital data that can be analyzed by the software. Then this data is compared with a database of the
software using an innovative algorithm to find a suitable answer. This database is located on distributed servers in
cloud networks. For this reason, most personal assistants cannot work without a reliable Internet
connection.

With the increasing number of queries the software’s database gets expanded and optimized, which improves
voice recognition and increases the response time of the system.

2. FEATURES

The concept of all voice recognition systems is similar, but each system has its own unique features.

Google Assistant does particularly well in understanding the context of what has been said. The
system benefits from the gigantic database of search entries.

● They’re an Excellent Communicator.

● VAs are Resourceful and Proactive.
● Virtual Assistants are Able to Multitask.
● VAs are Contributing to Business Growth.
● Speaks Naturally.

3. ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES

1. Advantages
● Saves Time
● Hands-Free Operation
● Ease of Use
● Accuracy
● Automation And Personalization
● Automated Learning systems
● Predictive Analysis
● Go beyond the visual devices

2. Disadvantages
● Listening problem

4. APPLICATIONS

1. Google Assistant
● Google is known for its accessibility, and its assistant is available across
a number of products. Get Google Assistant on your phone, speaker,
watch, laptop, TV or in your car. It connects to frequently used products
like
Netflix, YouTube and Spotify
2. Cortana
● Microsoft calls Cortana a “digital agent.” It’s designed to learn from your
commands to personalize your experience as you use it. You can type your
queries, or talk to Cortana by saying “Hey Cortana!” It’s very similar to the
Apple and Android options but is quickly gaining steam on Siri.
3. Amazon Alexa
● The Amazon Alexa voice-controlled assistant has the ability to connect
your entire life. You’ll be able to use directives for thousands of smart
home features, including lights, switches, TVs, thermostats and more.
Check the weather. Hear the latest news.
4. Siri
● You’re probably familiar withSiri, or at least the concept of it. Apple
introduced this voice-activated feature in 2011, and they’ve been adding
features ever since. Siri will answer your questions and give you sports
updates. She’ll give you reminders and set alarms or timers while you’re
cooking.
5. Bixby
● The Bixby assistant is like Siri for Samsung. It has a cool feature that lets
you identify landmarks and other visuals by taking a photo. You can also
translate foreign languages using Bixby, or point your camera at something
you want to buy and it will give you pricing options.

5. CONCLUSION

Virtual Assistant are very effective way to organise your schedule. Now there are many smart
personal digital assistant applications available in market for various device platform. These new
software applications are performing really well than PDA device as they provide with all the
resources of your smartphone.Virtual Assistant are also reliable than human personal assistant
Because, Virtual Assistant are more portable connected with Internet.
