1 Knowledge About the Audience
Assume that you are going to speak before an audience composed of professionals on a perennial and
relevant topic, for instance, "Smoking." Find out as much about your audience by answering the
following questions:
1. Who is likely to attend your talk?
Answer: Most likely smokers as well as non-smokers.
2. What is their background (education, profession, age range, gender, etc.)?
Answer: We all know that smoking is very common nowadays, regardless of whether you are an
architect, a teacher, or a student, men and women, as long as you are involved and hooked to smoking.
3. Why do you think they will come?
Answer: Those who wish to quit smoking and convert their lives from a bad to a good healthy lifestyle,
as well as those who want to learn about the harmful effects of smoking in order to live longer.
4. How will you convince them to stop their smoking habit?
Answer: I will remind them that smoking is a harmful habit that affects not only the smoker but also
those around them, and I will assist them in making the decision to quit so that they can preserve their
bodies and prevent becoming old. And also I will provide some real life experiences in order to catch
their attention even more
