The Bolota 304 range is a ‘high quality’ product

range of Architectural Ironmongery, tested to the
most stringent industry regulations, providing
reassurance in quality and standard.

Manufactured in grade 304 Stainless Steel, the Bolota 304 range offers over
25 designs (pages 6-30) of Grade 3 lever handles on a 7mm Threaded Sprung
Rose in a variety of finishes.

On pages 34 and 35, you will see we have added our BS EN1906 Grade 4 lever
handle Range which have a robust concealed fixing rose with special bolt-through
fixing support lugs. These levers are ideal for projects where high-traffic and a
robust quality is a requirement. We have also added levers on backplates. All lever
designs shown are supported by a 10-year mechanical guarantee.

PRODUCT RANGES
The product ranges available to Acorn are quite simply vast which allows us to
specify ranges and manufacture specials to meet the ongoing architectural and
client needs. We source all our product ranges from some of the world’s largest
manufacturing companies and we are continuously developing new product
designs to offer our client base.

COMPANY
Acorn Architectural Ironmongery Ltd was established in 2002 and specialises in
the specification and supply of high quality architectural ironmongery that is
both functional and well crafted to complement the building design.

Our comprehensive and varied ranges allow the architect and contractor
to specifiy the ironmongery from one source ensuring the project runs
smoothly, with the correct products, on time and within budget

All our Ironmongery is delivered to site by our own transport

and all items are packed and clearly labelled in door sets
at no extra charge.

Upon completion of every project, Acorn issue a fully

detailed maintenance advice manual along with schedules,
master key charts, certification and data sheets to assist the
end user in the maintenance of the ironmongery supplied.

Digit 5 - Safety
Grade 0: Normal use
Grade 1: Safety application - to qualify for this grade, handles must have high
strength handle-to-plate and plate-to-door fixing and/or handle to
spindle fixing, such that they would withstand a person grabbing in
order to prevent falling. It is recommended that only Safety Grade 1
furniture is used at the top of cellar steps or other staircases.

Digit 6 - Corrosion Resistance

Digit 1 - Category of Use Grade 0: No defined corrosion resistance

Stainless steel needs to be cleaned

for aesthetic considerations and to
preserve corrosion resistance. Stainless
steel is protected by a thin layer of
chromium oxide.

Oxygen from the atmosphere combines with chromium in

stainless steel to form a passive chromium oxide film that protects
from further corrosion. Any contamination of the surface by dirt
or other material hinders this passivation process and traps
corrosive agents, reducing corrosion protection. Thus some form
of routine cleaning is necessary to preserve the appearance and
integrity of the surface.

They actually thrive with frequent cleaning and, unlike some other
materials, it is impossible to ‘wear out’ stainless steel by excessive
cleaning. Stainless steel performs best when clean - cleanliness is
essential for maximum resistance to corrosion.

Stainless steel products should be wiped over with a clean cloth

and warm water with a mild detergent on a frequent basis. For
more stubborn dirt or stains use mild, non-scratching abrasing
powders such as typical household cleaners. These can be used
with warm water, bristle brushes, sponges or clean cloths. For
more aggressive cleaning a small amount of vinegar can be added
to the powder. Carbon steel brushes should be avoided as they
may leave particles embedded in the surface, which can lead to
rusting. Cleaning should always be immediately followed by
rinsing in clean hot water and the surface then wiped completely
with a dry towel.

The maximum recommendation for routine cleaning is once a

month and more often in areas subject to frequent use.

Cylinders should NOT be lubricated with oil or WD40.
