RESOLUTION NO. 2019 - _______

RESOLUTION REQUESTING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FROM THE OFFICE OF THE


CONGRESSWOMAN, HON. JANETTE L. GARIN, M.D., FOR THE REHABILITATION OF
THE DAMAGED ROAD ALONG THE SHORELINE AND THE SEAWALL OF BARANGAY
________________, MIAGAO, ILOILO

WHEREAS, Barangay ____________ is a coastal barangay wherein some of the residential


houses and the Child Development Center were erected approximately six (6) meters from the
coastline and therefore life and limb of residents thereat are at-risk during typhoons and storm
surges;

WHEREAS, it is the prime duty of the Sangguniang Barangay of Barangay ___________ to


protect and secure its inhabitants from natural calamities and disasters, therefore a seawall was
constructed along the shoreline;

WHEREAS, last July 17-18, 2019, the road along the shoreline and the seawall have been
destroyed by strong and big waves and storm surge brought about by the Southwest Monsoon
and intensified by Tropical Depression Falcon and was no longer passable to the people and
transportation;

WHEEREAS, the Sangguniang Barangay lacks the financial capability to implement the
aforementioned rehabilitation;
WHEREAS, it is deemed necessary and urgent to rehabilitate the said infrastructures to avoid,
remedy or mitigate further damage or any adverse effect of its conditions;

NOW THEREFORE, on motion of Barangay Kagawad _______________ and unanimously


seconded;

BE IT RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, resolution requesting financial assistance


from the Office of the Congresswoman, Hon. Janette L. Garin, M.D., for the rehabilitation of the
damaged road along the shoreline and the seawall of barangay ________________, Miagao,
Iloilo;

RESOLVED FURTHER, to submit copies of this resolution to the Office of the Congresswoman,
the Muicipal Mayor, Sangguniang Bayan and other offices concerned for their information and
appropriate action.
