PRACTICE WORKSHEET 1
TERM – I, 2020-2021
ENGLISH
STD: II

Name ......................................................................... DIV........... ROLL NO: ..........

BUSY BUZZY HONEY BEES

Bees are wonderful insects. They are hard

working and fun to watch. They make honey.

Bees live in a house called a hive. Bees are

very wise and busy little creatures. But don't get too close!

Bees work very hard all day. There are three kinds of bees: workers, drones and

queens. Only one queen bee can live in each hive. Each kind of bee has a job to

do. Some bees stay in hive and work inside. Some bees fly around collecting

nectar. Nectar is a sweet, sticky liquid that bees use to make honey.

They all join together to build cells of wax for their honey. The cells which they

build are all of one shape and size. The cells are not round. They have six sides.

It is not safe for children to handle bees. Bees have a very painful sting that

they use to save themselves.
