E-VOTING PLATFORM GUIDE

Student Guide
INTRODUCTION
The E-voting is a system that allows the University of Embu students to elect their leaders
electronically. The platform enables ballot casting, recording and counting of votes in real
time.

Before accessing the voting platform a student needs to:

1. Be a registered student of the University of Embu.


2. Be enrolled in semester II 2019/20 academic year.
3. Have a valid accessible student email e.g. ([email protected]).
4. Have access to stable internet connection.

DO NOT USE AN ACCOUNT THAT DOES NOT BELONG TO YOU


(All IP’s will be logged).

SYSTEM GUIDE STEPS

1.1. The E-Voting Platform can be accessed from the university website
www.embuni.ac.ke, or through URL: www.apps.embuni.ac.ke/voting/.
1.2. You will then be prompted to choose your department
1.3. Once you have selected your department you will be prompted to login. Sign in
with your corporate Google Account e.g. ([email protected]).
If your student email does not display, click on use another account to login to
your email.

Please Note: If you have already voted the system SHALL NOT allow you to login
again. You also should have been enrolled for the current semester for you to be
eligible to vote.
1.4. Candidates Selection Page: After successful login, you will be redirected to the
candidates’ selection page as seen in the image below.

 Click on a candidate of your choice from the list shown.
 Note that candidates will be grouped by positions e.g. Male Department
Delegate, Chairperson among others.
 To select your desired candidate, you can either click on the VOTE button
or click on the candidate’s image.
 If you do not want to vote for any candidate in a specific position click on
Vote No (Abstain) for that particular position.
After selecting all your desired candidates’, click on the SUBMIT SELECTION button
at the bottom of the page to proceed to the confirmation page.

1.5. Summary Page: This page allows you to confirm the choices you made in step 1.4
above. You will receive a page as one shown below.

If you wish to change a candidate, click on the Re-select Candidates button to go
back to selecting candidates (Step 1.4. Candidates Selection Page).
If you wish to proceed and complete the voting process, click on the Submit
Selection button to submit your votes.
On submission, you will be automatically logged out of the E-Voting Platform and
your account will be blocked from voting again.
