Hard disk Initialization Method for DNC-DT function

When the “DNC PACKAGE” of OSP-7000M/U100M/E100M takes software version up according to
Retro-fit/Countermeasure, it is necessary to execute Hard disk Initialization again for DNC-DT
function.
However, it depends on the software versions as below; Because the HARD DISK FORMAT form is
different from software versions to new ones.

Only if the following version-up is done, the hard disk Initialization is necessary.

<OSP-7000M/U100M>
When the software version of DNC PACKAGE is up-graded from V615A or older to V620A or newer.
• V615A software is applied on the DNC PACKAGE; “DNCB000AENG-012” or older.
• V620A software is applied on the DNC PACKAGE; “DNCB000AENG-013” or newer.

<OSP-E100M>
When the software version of DNC PACKAGE is up-graded from V700X or older to V701A or newer.

The software versions are possible to be confirmed at OSP MANAGEMENT CARD as below.

- OSP7000M/U100M is possible to be confirmed at DNC PACKAGE floppy disk.
However, OSP-E100 is unnecessary to be checked by OSP MANAGEMENT CARD due the
software is in CD-R.
- If an above method isn’t done with an above software version up, the following alarm happen with
program selection of DNC-DT function.

<< Initialization Method >>

-Hard disk initialization takes about 30 minutes. (It depends on the hard
disk capacity)
-Please note that CTRL-C doesn’t stop the initialization after it is started,
and don’t turn off the power of machine during initialization.
-The initialization is impossible if the following error occurs during
program selection with DNC-DT.
5428 Hard Disk Initialization Error FF
In this case, please wait to finish the program selection.

<OSP-7000M/U100M>

- Select program operation mode; EDIT AUX.


- Input “HDINIT”, then press the WRITE key.
- When the “=” indication appear at consol line, the operation is completed.

<OSP-E100M>

- Select program operation mode; EDIT AUX.


- Find “INIT” indication at [F3] by pressing the extend key.
- Press the [F3](INIT).
- Press the [F5](HDINIT).
- When the initialization window is closed, the operation is completed.
