SEALER eX 1 by Kansai is a premium grade, high performance water based sealer that is designed to protect the
finish against chalking and efflorescence. Formulated with special styrene acrylic resins, SEALER eX 1 will

Designed as a primer coat for use on new or previously painted interior and exterior masonry surfaces such as

INSTRUCTION FOR USE

New, unpainted surfaces

Allow surfaces to cure and dry out at least 28 days. Large cracks must be repaired with cement: sand mix and
rendered smooth. Make good all minor defects with appropriate exterior grade fillers. Remove all loosely
adhering residues by thorough brushing.

SURFACE PREPARATION Repainting

Check for powders and chalk. These surface contaminants must be completely removes by washing with warm
water and detergent solutions. Rinse with clean water, taking care to change the rinsing water regularly. If after
thorough washing the surface is still slightly powdery it may be necessary to seal it with SEALER S.

 Drying time
Surface dry: 15 minutes;
APPLICATION Recoat: 1-2 hours.
 Dilution: Clean household water.
 Cleaning Up: Clean household water.

 Conventional Spray: A typical set up would be a minimum atomizing pressure of 2.8 kg/cm 2 and fluid
EQUIPMENT GUIDE pressure of 0.4 kg/cm3 with a nozzle size of 0.43 mm.
 Airless Spray: A typical set up would be e minimum of 155 kg/cm 3 with a nozzle size of 0.38 – 0.43 mm
and spray tip angle of 65°.

 Brush or Roller: Ready for use. If dilution is required, add up to 5% clean water.
DILUTION RATIO
 Conventional Spray: Dilution of up to 10% clean water.
 Airless Spray: Ready for use.

Limitations:
- Not suitable for use on newly plastered walls that are not fully cured. SEALER eX 1 works best on surfaces with a
moisture content of below 15% and alkalinity below pH-9 or otherwise premature paint failure may occur.
- Can tolerate slightly damp surfaces but not wet and water saturated surfaces.
- SEALER eX 1 is not a waterproofing coating. If waterproofing is required, seek specialist advice.

 Ensure adequate lighting and ventilation during application and drying.

 This product does not contain added lead or mercury.
SAFETY AND HEALTH WARNING  When applying paints, it is advisable to wear eye protection.
INFORMATION  In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical assistance.
 Use soap and water to remove splashes from skin.
 Storage: Keep container closed and store in clean, dry conditions.
 Do not empty into drains or water courses.
 This product is not flammable. Keep out of reach of children.

* Practical coverage will vary according to the roughness and porosity of surface to be applied, the application method and condition, dry film thickness and the skill of
applicator.
