The feeding of material has to be effective over the entire width of the machine inlet.
We reserve the right to change the size/ design and drive performance which could have
been appropriately adapted after final determination of the specific operational data.
Our offer for the roller screens and crushers described in the following paragraphs is based
on our experience for the operational conditions as specified above.
Statements about the final product size distribution depend on the distribution of the feed
material and can only be defined after crushing tests with representative samples.
Each transfer point, chute and skirting box will be equipped with nozzles for dust suppression.
2 Scope of Supply
The key parts of the shear roller crushers (SWB) will be manufactured in FAM’s DIN EN ISO
9001:2008 and OHSAS 18001:2007 certified shops in Germany under FAM’s full and direct
control. This is a proven approach and has been applied to almost all of our projects
worldwide. Due to our own fabrication capabilities which are understood as a major advantage
not only to comply with required quality issues, but also to deliver on schedule.

As far as erection is concerned, it is important to note that the shear roller crusher will be
assembled and tested prior to shipment to ensure that the erection process takes place
smoothly and at the lowest possible cost.
The shear roller crusher and its components are of heavy-duty design and construction.
Standard replacement parts are short time available. Selection of materials and components are
consistent with the concept of high reliability.
All components are standardized to minimize spare parts inventory. All equipment is
manufactured throughout with special attention given to accessibility and ease of
maintenance.

FAM Shear Roller Crushers crush the material charged in the whole operational width
with its two outside turning crushing roller and the crushing combs which are installed at
the housing’s exterior.

Each Shear Roller Crusher consists essentially of:
Divided and armoured housing
Bearings
Sidewise material feeding and crushing (S)
Crushing roller with exchangeable toothed segments as crushing elements (S)
Direct drive (-D)
Lubrication system
Housing
The housing is designed as a solid frame construction made of welded steel plates.
Exchangeable Hardox wear liner plates are used to protect the machine housing. These
plates are installed in the crushing area.
Adjustable comb-type crushing elements are fixed at the longitudinal housing sides. The
lateral openings are used for the crushing comb adjustment.
Bearings
The bearings are heavy duty self-aligning roller bearings which are running in dust- tight
housings with labyrinth seals and grease lubrication.
Crushing roller
Each crushing roller consists of the roller body and the exchangeable crushing elements. The
crushing elements are selected according to the desired final grain size and are made of
highly wear-resistant special alloy steel. These are fastened in a form-closed manner to the
roller body which is linked with the shaft by tensioning elements.

Consisting of:
• 2 (two) pcs. curved tooth couplings
• 2 (two) pcs. gear motors
o Power: 55 kW
o Voltage: 690 V, 50 Hz
o Motor speed: 1480 rpm.
Lubrication system
An automatic grease lubrication system provides the necessary lubrication of the
machine.
The automatic grease lubrication system provides the necessary lubrication of the machine
bearings. The system consists of the pump unit with grease tank, electric pump, grease
distributor and piping system.

3 Painting - Coating Specification
The surface preparation and painting system is carried out in accordance to the FAM –
Standard as specified below.
Surface treatment according to DIN EN 12944, SA 2.5
1 x Prime coat thickness 60 µm
1 x Intermediate coat thickness 120 µm
1 x Finish coat (RAL 5002 ultramarine blue) thickness 60 µm
Standard products such as motors, gearboxes, pumps, etc. are painted according to the
standard of the appropriate sub supplier.
