Education
B.S. in Recreational Therapy- University of Utah 2021

Qualification or Areas of Effectiveness

In addition to my degree in Recreational Therapy, I have had many experiences that has helped me develop critical skills
necessary to perform well in an internship. I have had 5 years of experience teaching and leading various classes including
dance, tumbling and English in Ukraine. While teaching I have gained experience in classroom management, how to be
flexible and how to engage students in rewarding lessons. I have also had the opportunity to volunteer with several different
populations as a part of my Recreational Therapy degree. I have several years of leadership experiences. While on the dance
team in high school, I was captain which gave me responsibilities that I was able to achieve. I have also supervised for
various jobs that has allowed me to problem solve, become an advocate for others and to train and lead team. Lastly,
throughout all of my experiences, I have learned how to communicate with other team members, customers, students and
clients. I am able to have clear and concise conversations and I know how to let the individual feel heard and understood.

Employment History
Recreational Therapy Intern May 2021-August 2021
I had the opportunity to complete an internship at Copper Hills Youth Center, a residential treatment center for
adolescents with severe mental and behavioral disorders. As an intern, I had the opportunity to plan and facilitate
recreational therapy groups, gained experience in conducting high ropes course groups, starting a fly-fishing
program and planning service and adventure outings. I was able to get exposure to a variety of disorders and
learned how to implement recreational therapy. I was able to learn integral aspects of the APIED process while
completing my internship.
Lifetime Fitness May 2018-May 2021
I am currently working in the child center watching kids. I make sure to keep them safe while entertaining them, so they are
able to have a fun experience with us. Working with children has taught me patience, how to be a problem solver, and how
to multitask. While working here, I have learned how to also interact with parents, children and other team members.
Working with children is a unique job. You have to be flexible and adjust quickly to any situation that is thrown at you.
Dance Teacher July 2019-Current
I currently teach dance at Poise Dance Center. I teach young students starting at the age of 5 all the way up to 14. I have
learned how to communicate with children and how to keep them engaged through different activities.

Activities/Leadership
Special Education Teacher Assistant September 2019- December 2019
I volunteered at South Valley School as teacher’s assistant. I got to work with a wide range of different intellectual
disabilities including individuals with down syndrome and autism. It was been such an eye-opening experience and I have
learned how to communicate with those who may not be able to on their own.
Assisted Living Facility January 2020- March 2020
I volunteered at Sheridan’s Assisted Living Facility which housed many older adults. While volunteering there I had the
opportunity to make a lasting relationship with many of my residents. My role as a volunteer was to check up on residents,
plan activities, assist in conducting activities, spending time with residents and filling in wherever needed.
English Teacher August-December 2018
I had the opportunity to teach English in Kiev, Ukraine in the fall of 2018. My responsibilities including teaching lessons,
lesson planning, organizing the school and supplies, working with other teachers, coordinators and principals, attending
weekly training and student evaluations. While being there I learned a lot about different cultures throughout Europe,
especially Ukraine’s. I was able to see the world in a new light by working through many cultural differences and learning
how to communicate despite of a language barrier.
Bingham’s Drill Team 2014-2017
I was on Bingham’s drill team from 2014-2017. On my team my senior year, I was the dance captain and I was given a lot
of responsibilities. I was in charge of leading the team, choreographing and cleaning dances, warming the team up, helped
with spacing on the gym floor and football field, leading team conditioning and work outs, motivating the team and I had to
have a trusting relationship with the girls as well as the coaches. As a leader, it was my responsibility to help with conflicts
between the girls on the team which taught me how to work with all different kinds of personalities.
