Halloween Scavenger Hunt Key!

(for when it’s spooky season and your family goes crazy :D )

All of the clues should be attached to particular items already, but just in case any pop off while being
shipped, this is how they’re arranged:
Card— given to boys to start
-(I suggest starting in the kitchen, since the final clue sends them ‘back where they started’)
-Inside is Clue #1:
“Don’t be scared or get cold feet / Go where you would to get something to eat / Don’t
scramble your brains, try not to be chicken / Just look on the shelf, this one’s easy
pickings”
-leads to…
Prize #1— in fridge with regular eggs
-With them is Clue #2:
“Try to steer clear of goblins and witches / This next hiding spot might have you in
stitches / It’s colorful but not “sew” easy to find / Think long and hard, and don’t fall
behind”
-leads to…
Prize #2— in a drawer of the sewing desk
-Attached is Clue #3:
“If you’re looking for treasure, you can really score / If you check every cranny and
drawer / But you might find you cause quite a scare / If you forget and go out in your
underwear”
-leads to…
Prize #3— in underwear drawer of the kids’ dresser
-Attached is Clue #4:
“Vampires like to sleep during the day / Behind a closed door to keep hunters at bay / In a
room small as a coffin, he’ll look around / Take off his cloak and hang upside down”
-leads to…
Prize #4— in coat closet
-Attached is Clue #5:
“Beware, this next one might lead to your doom / Now you must brave the smelliest room
/ To look your best on Halloween / In ghoulish shades of purple and green”
-leads to…
Prize #5— on shelf over toilet in bathroom
-With them is Clue #6:
“It’s not in a graveyard, so stay with the living / (Or at least in its room) to find what
you’re missing / An old wooden casket’s a great place to hide / So open, if you dare, and
peek inside”
-leads to…
Prize #6— in wooden end table/storage bin in living room
-Attached is Clue #7:
“This is the last one, so don’t give up now! / Go back where you started, search close to the
ground / You’re getting warmer, you’re almost done / Just solve this last riddle then bake
up some fun!”
-leads to…
Prize #7— in baking pan drawer under stove

(Scribd note: These clues and locations were customized for my family and their home, so some of the
clues which lead to particular hiding spots, like a sewing desk or wooden storage bin, may need some
tweaking— but I hope these give you a fun jumping off point to create a scavenger hunt of your own!
We also tried to match prizes to their particular locations where we could— Kinder eggs in with real
eggs in the fridge, purple and green hair dye in the bathroom, cookie dough mix in the baking pan
drawer, etc. However you make use of it, have fun!)
