PRESS RELEASE

La Princesita and La Blanquita Award Scholarships to Employees and their Children

Los Angeles, August 24, 2021.
La Princesita and La Blanquita established a scholarship program to award
academic scholarships to employees and their children currently attending high school or
college. Applicants were required to submit an application form and a personal
statement. The scholarship committee – comprised of the company’s board of directors –
received numerous applications and ranked the applicants based on hardships
overcome, career goals and academic performance. The companies also established the
Pancho Scholarship in honor of their late founder, Francisco “Pancho” Ramirez. The
Pancho Scholarship is reserved for a current La Princesita or La Blanquita employee
pursuing a higher education.
La Princesita awarded four scholarships – one college scholar and three high
school scholars. La Blanquita also awarded four scholarships – two high school scholars
and two college scholars. This year’s Pancho Scholarship was awarded to Anthony
Rivera, a butcher at the El Monte La Blanquita who is currently pursing a degree at Citrus
College. Each high school scholar received $500, and each college scholar and the
Pancho Scholar received $1,000 to put toward their education.
Please join us in congratulating this year’s scholarship recipients. Student profiles
are included in the following pages.
