STAINED GLASS- MAKING

Objectives:
 Draw Christian Symbols and forms
 Make stained glass design
 Express appreciation for stained glass design
What will you need
 Two sheets of black construction paper or black cartolina
 Glue
 Pair of scissors
 Cutter
 Two sheets of bond paper
 Cellophane in a variety of colors
What Will You Do
 Search the internet for stained glass samples
 Decide the design on a sheet of bond paper. Cut out the portion that needs to be left open. This open space will be covered
with colored cellophane later. The outline will serve as the design of your stained glass.
 Trace this pattern on two pieces of black of black construction paper or cartolina. These will serve as a framework of your
design. Make sure that they are cut identically.
 Lay the first design framework on the table. Assemble pieces of colored cellphone to the open spaces of the design
framework. Glue the cellphone on the framework once you are satisfied with the result of the color combinations or color
effects.
 Trim excess parts of the cellophane to give your work a clean look.
 Glue the second piece of framework on top of the cellophane. Make sure that the second framework is positioned exactly on
top of the first.
 Punch a hole and tie a string to your stained glass designed. Hang the stained glass design near a window or an area where it
can catch light. The light will penetrate the colored cellophane and will produce bright colors similar to stained windows of
churches.
