I. INTRODUCTION :

A learning continuity plan seeks to ensure that students’ learning progresses even amidst
disasters such as natural calamities, storms,, and pandemics. This plan overcomes obstacles created by
the disasters through innovative means of teaching and learning, keeping students on track with their
courses. With today’s COVID-19 pandemic, the main obstacle that has to be overcome is the need for
social distancing, making face-to-face interaction impossible. Therefore, any learning continuity plan
to be implemented today has to account for this limitation.

Continuing Beyond the Calamity

Your learning continuity plan need not be a stop-gap solution for a crisis. The innovations
you introduce could be implemented into your regular course instruction even after the calamity.
Doing so opens new ways of learning and pursuing the course for you and your students. What’s
more, the continuity plan ensures that learning continues even if major disasters occur.

X. CONTEXTUAL OPERATIONALIZATION

a. Prior to School Opening in SY 2021-2022

The DepEd also said it will follow Duterte's decision to postpone the
implementation of limited face-to-face classes in low-risk areas. It earlier identified some schools
to participate in the pilot run.
The utmost priority is the safety of learners and teachers and will defer to the
professional assessment of the Department of Health, IATF, and the wisdom of the President in
ensuring protection.
The education department added that it will continue to "prepare the delivery of quality
education no matter what the circumstances will be in the coming months."
"Enhanced" modular distance learning will continue to be implemented.
b. When SY 2021-2022 has opened
According to the guidelines, the conduct of face-to-face classes, whether in
partial or full-scale, will still not be allowed unless permitted by the President.

“The Department had to find ways to keep the learning process going despite the
challenges and uncertainty posed by COVID-19 while maintaining the health, safety, and well-
being of learners and teachers,” Secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones emphasized.
c. When limited in persons are allowed
The assurance of vaccines to all, including school-age children, is not guaranteed.
However, education must continue to give hope and contribute to the normalization of activities
in the country and facilitate the development of our learners and the restoration of normalcy in
their lives.
Regular enrollment for SY 2021-2022 will start on August 16 until September 13, 2021.

XI. SYNTHESIS

Given the anticipated disruptions in face-to-face holding of classes, and the need for social
distancing, distance learning will be a major component of learning delivery for the incoming
school year.
Similarly acknowledge the fears and apprehensions of our learners, parents and teachers, that
we might not be ready for distance learning, with issues about access to online platforms and
availability of Learning Materials/SLMs/gadgets.
Assure everyone that we are working double time to ready our system, to the central down to
small units, to deliver accessible and quality distance education.
Seek the cooperation of all to have an open mind, and to allow us the opportunity over the next
two months, to fully orient and inform everyone how this will be done.
At the end of the day, after we have given our explanations, the parents will have the final
decision whether to allow their children to proceed.
