LESSON PLAN IN CREATIVE WRITING

Subject/Grade Level: 12 Quarter: 1 Week: 1 Date: September 2-4, 2020

I. OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, the learners will be able to:
a. differentiate creative writing from other forms of writing;
b. learn the various genres in creative writing;
c. explore creative writing as an art and how different it is from
other forms.
d. describe characteristics, strengths, weaknesses, and kinds of
genres of creative writing.
e. understands what it means to be a creative writer.
f. employ best practices and good working habits of a writer; and
g. become mindful of the process of writing using a journal

II. SUBJECT MATTER:


 TOPICS/CONCEPTS: LESSON 1-2: Creative Writing: Its Definition,
Purpose, Genres and Prompts
 REFERENCES: Creative Writing Book, internet
 MATERIALS: Book, Pencil and Notebook, Laptop

III. PROCEDURE/LEARNING ACTIVITIES

DAY 1

A. Routine Activities
 Opening Prayer
 Checking of Attendance and Uniform
 Presentation of the Word of the Week
 Presentation of the Objectives

B. Pre-assessment (Unlocking Prior-Knowledge)



C. Presentation of the Lesson
 Review/Motivation
Let the students do a list about their prior knowledge in
creative writing.
 Lesson Proper
The teacher will discuss and describe the characteristics,
strengths, weaknesses, and kinds of genres of creative
writing.

 Formative Assessment
Have the students learn some prompts that they may use to
jump-start their writing or even use some as journal entries.
DAY 2
A. Routine Activities

 Checking of Attendance and Uniform
 Presentation of the Word of the Week
 Presentation of the Objectives

B. Pre-assessment
 Let the students learn what are the difference between creative
writing and technical writing.
C. Presentation of the Lesson
 Review/Motivation
 The teacher will discuss the creative and technical writing.
 Lesson Proper
 Discuss the different types of creating and an example prompts that
the students may use in writing.
 Formative Assessment
 Have the students write in their own words about their
understanding about creative and technical writing.

DAY 3

 Presentation of the Word of the Week
 Presentation of the Objectives

B. Pre-assessment
 The class will have a review about previous topic

C. Presentation of the Lesson


 Review/Motivation
Let the students write atleast ten (10) reasons why they did
not find creative writing enjoyable.
 Lesson Proper
The teacher will discuss about the difference between
creative and technical writing.
 Formative Assessment
Let the students define what is creative writing and technical
writing in their own words.
DAY 4
A. Routine Activities

 Checking of Attendance and Uniform
 Presentation of the Word of the Week

B. Pre-assessment
 Review from the previous lesson

 The teacher will let the students share their understanding frim

I. OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, the learners will be able to:
a. utilize language to evoke emotional and intellectual responses
from readers;
b. use accurate, precise, concrete, and appropriate words when
writing;
c. discover what happens to a poem when the words are
replaced with their synonyms.
d. The learner have an understanding of diction and imagery; and
e. Master the figures of speech and variations of language.

II. SUBJECT MATTER:


 TOPICS/CONCEPTS: LESSON 3-4 Vignettes (Short Paragraphs),
Language and Diction
 REFERENCES: Creative Writing Book, internet
 MATERIALS: Book, Pencil and Notebook, Laptop

The teacher will introduce the students on how to create a
vignette.

Discuss the definition of vignettes and let the students read
the examples of vignettes from the famous authors.

 Formative Assessment (Journal Writing)


Let the students make a personal journal with the topic of
their choice.

 The teacher will ask the students what are their knowledge about
language.

poetic language.

 The teacher will discuss the definition of language, poetic
language, and the types of diction.
 Formative Assessment
 Let the students transform the abstract sentences into concrete
one.
DAY 3

 The class will ask the students what kind of writing are they
interested at.

The teacher will discuss what is connotation and denotations,
the positive and negative connotations, and provide
examples of each.
 Formative Assessment (Quiz)
The students will answer a ten (10) item quiz about the
positive and negative connotations.
