ACTIVITY 1: Philippine Literature in Pre-colonial Period.
A. Directions: List all literary genres present in the pre-colonial period. Define each and give at least 3
examples for each genre.
B. Directions: Using a graphic organizer, present the characteristics of the literary works published
during the pre-colonial period.
ACTIVITY 2: Philippine Literature in Spanish Era
A. Directions: Enumerate all writers as well as their respective works during the Spanish Era. Give a
short background for each author.
B. Directions: Write a short summary at least one paragraph comprising 15 sentences describing the
characteristics of the different literary works published during the Spanish Period.
ACTIVITY 3: Philippine Literature in American and Japanese Era
A. Directions: Enumerate all writers in American Period as well as their literary works. Give a short
background for each author and a brief overview of their masterpieces.
B. Directions: Enumerate all writers in Japanese Period as well as their literary works. Give a short
background for each author and a brief overview of their masterpieces.
C. Directions: Compare and contrast the literary works published during the American and Japanese
Period using a T-chart.
ACTIVITY 4: Philippine Literature in Contemporary Period/Post-War Period
A. Directions: Write an essay consisting of 500 words which describes the events that had happened to
the Philippines during the Post-War Period.
B. Directions: Enumerate the authors of this period as well as their masterpieces.
ACTIVITY 5: Chapter Summary
A. Directions: Create a timeline showing the evolution of Philippine Literature from the Pre-colonial
Period up to the Contemporary/Post-War Period.

A. Directions: Create a photo album containing the short life background of the 9 canonical authors and

his/her literary pieces.

D. Directions: Create your own photo poem, spoken poetry, silent comics or blog (just choose one
according to your preference) and upload your craft on facebook using the hashtag #LiteratureOfMillennials.

figure of speech used.
C. Write your reaction about the raid that happened in Ozamiz City last July 30, 2017 using the different
figures of Speech. Limit your reaction into 10 sentences.
