Banana leaf is just one of the several leaves used in Odisha. In Odisha, the plates are
called Khali, and the small bowls are called dana. These were traditionally
synonymous with festivities and celebrations until plastic plates took over, not more
than a decade ago.
It is still trendy in the eastern part of India and often used in snack stalls and temples.
