8648 Pulse Modulation Operation

Situation:

Many 8648 pulse modulation option signal generators are being returned for repair with
the fault “NO RF OUTPUT”, when there is in fact nothing wrong with the units.

It turns out that the Pulse Modulation has not been turned off.

Solution/Action:

Powering the signal generator on and off will not reset the Pulse Modulation to a default
state. After use, the Pulse Modulation should be turned off by going into Pulse Modulation
mode (by pressing the AM key twice) and then switching the Modulation On/off key to
off.
