INTRODUCTION

uru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), Delhi offers both
BA as well as MA in Media and Journalism. GGSIPU conducts its annual
university level admission test- IPU CET BJMC for the undergraduate
programmes offered by its 12 affiliated colleges. The entrance exam is
offline while the application process is completely online. Candidates will be tested
in their English language skills, ability to reason, analyse and general awareness. The
Bachelor of Arts (Journalism & Mass Communication) is a three year course offered
under the aegis of the University at these 12 institutes the list of which are given
under the participating institutes section in this book. Candidates must first appear
for the IPU CET BJMC exam, qualify in to participate in the common counselling

The minimum scores that will be considered for admissions is the IPU CET
cutoff. The cutoff is generally determined by the University after considering
the number of applicants for the course, seats available, difficulty level of the
entrance test and past cutoff figures. Candidates can use the past year cutoffs
to get an idea of the cutoff marks of IPU CET BJMC that may fetch them a seat.

HOW TO CHECK THE RESULT?
Candidates will be able to check the IPU CET Result in the
second week of May. Candidates will have to login to check
their results to know if they have qualified in the entrance
test and can apply for counselling. To check their result of,
candidates must enter their CET Roll No and the programmes
for which they have applied. The admissions to the BJMC
or the MAMC programmes will be based on the Merit rank
obtained by the candidates in the IPU CET exam. The rank
will be declared only for candidates who have qualified in the
IPU CET.

COUNSELLING –
WHAT, HOW AND WHERE?
Counselling for IPU CET BJMC is online. It will be held in two rounds and a
spot round will be held if any vacant seats still remain after the counselling is
over. Candidates who have qualified must apply online for counselling, fill their
choices, check their seat allotment, pay their admission fees and report to the
allotted college for admission as well as document verification. Candidates must
pay a counselling fee of Rs 1000 through challan or Net Banking /Credit Card
and Debit Card.
Registration & Choice Filing: Candidates must register for the counselling of
IPU CET BJMC and enter their details before filling their choices of colleges and
courses. They must then take two print outs of the Registration Form. One must
be submitted at the time of document verification and the other to be retained
by the candidate for all future reference
Seat Allotment: Candidates who are allotted seats must login to check the
same and download the provisional allotment letter. Candidates must then pay
the part admission fee of Rs 40,000 through challan, debit/credit card or net-
banking. They can participate in further rounds of IPU CET BJMC counselling
or freeze the seat if the allotment is according to their choice.
Venue for Counselling of GGSIPU- Venue of Counselling: For all programmes
for which offline counselling will be held the venue will be notified in the coun-
selling schedule on the University’s website (and at the end of this page along
with the counselling dates).
Procedure for First Round- Seat Allotment
1. The officials release a detailed schedule of the first counselling process of

the complete fee by the candidate. The candidate must check details printed
or written in the BJMC admission slip.
5. A candidate who fails to appear in person on the notified venue, date and time
for counselling will not be granted admission.
6. Immediately after finalising the seat and receiving the admission slip, can-
didates had to pay notified fee. If a candidate fails to pay the fee, the seat
offered to him/her will be withdrawn and allotted to the next candidate in the
merit list.
7. The students admitted in first round of IPU CET BJMC counselling will not be
allowed to change the programme or institute during the subsequent days of
first counselling. However, they may change the programme or institute dur-
ing second counselling after depositing an additional sum of Rs.5,000/- in the
form of a fresh Demand Draft (DD) in favour of Registrar, Guru Gobind Singh
Indraprastha University payable at Delhi.
8. The counselling process of BJMC will stop when all the seats get filled-up.
